Just got a call from my Transmission shop that my transmission problem is electrical and replacing the transmission won't solve the problem. Transmission operating in limp mode after warm-up

Had transmission scanned and 2 & 4 val. code came up. Replaced the valve body and the overdrive code came up. I'm not sure what else they did but they are saying it's electrical and replacing the transmission won't solve the problem. What about the computer control module, could that be my electrical problem?

How to replace transmission filter in 1989 k 1500

If its staying in second gear, problems could be a plugged valve body, electric solenoid failure, or linkage problems.
Changing the filter probably won't help.

Autotrans. wont shift to low gear on start off 1997 jeep grand

You mean the shifter works fine, but first gear won't engage? About all you can do for automatics is check the color and level of transmission fluid. If it smells burnt or looks dark or brown colored, a transmission drain and refill might restore it, and might not.
Also, it could be an electrical problem in the electronic shift mechanism. The dealer or a good shop would have to diagnose that.

My 2002 taurus won't downshift unless i let off the gas

Hello
This transmissions shift is controlled by a computer called the PCM, it activates electric solenoids inside the transmission that do the shifting by opening and closing hydraulic pressure ports, if a fault exists in the electronic controls inside the transmission the computer will store a specific code for this fault. So what must be done 1st is to have the computer checked for fault codes, this is called an "OBD2" fault code test. The best thing to do is have an AAmco transmission shop run the test and road test the car, the preliminary testing is free, they can then give you a rough estimate of the repair cost.

So driving down the road my transmission just quit working completely, no forward, no reverse, it was just like it was in neutral, fluid level fine and bright red, and my turn signals and 4 ways also...

I would solve the electrical issues, before I would let anyone
pull the transaxle out

A trans shop is not the place to be for that

I used to own one

They will rebuild the trans & you will still have
the other problems & they won't have anyone
that can help

I took my 2007 vw beetle into a shop and the guy said it was a transmission code po 730. What does that mean and how much will it cost. The car works fine its just when I stop at the stop light and start...

code p 0730 refers to incorrect gear ratio===causes --wiring---R ( transmission ratio) sensor /switch---shift solenoids--transmission mechanical fault
you say that the transmission runs well except for the jerk so the transmission is good
It indicates that the TR sensor is faulty so take it to an accredites auto transmission specialist shop for a proper diagnosis and quote to replace the TR sensor

1995 GMC Suburban. Transmission slips between third and fourth

Depending on where you connected power to the stereo from on the fuseblock you could be messing up the tranny. Refer to the manual versus where the stereo wires are, Worst case, disconnect power to the stereo to see if that's the cause of the problem.
