It depends what shakes ? if it only dose it when your slowing right down without braking then it could be an engine mount. if your braking it could be many things from warped disks to track rod ends/ball joints/loose wheel bearings. try and trace the shake. front right-left/steering wheel/back right -left.checks to do are,jack car up and hold the top and bottom of the wheel and shake it/there should be no movement/hold the sides of the wheel and shake it/there should be no movement ( on all wheels ) grab engine and shake it while looking at both sides ( checking engine mounts ) shaking can be caused by a number of things even bad shockers. good luck

Yes this is possible. But , keep in mind you need to have a good stick welder and be proficient in metal fabrication to make custom parts. I would not attempt this unless you are very good at fabrication.

EGR is maybe stuck open. disconnect the vac hose at the EGR valve and see if the idle smoothes out. If the EGR is sitcking open, thats a vac leak. If that fixes it, replace the EGR solenoid valve.
