2005 Kia Sedona 2.9 CRDi Auto won't change up or down gears. What's the cause and solution?
Changed gearbox, gearbox control unit, overhauled engine. Drives underpowered from Low gear and reverse when operated manually. Will not change gears automatically

One thing you might try is moving coil pack 4 to another cylinder and see if the code moves. After that do a plug swap and see if it moves. Do them separately not coil and plug together..

SOUNDS LIKE A CATALYTIC CONVERTER.... BUT GO TO YOUR LOCAL AUTO ZONE OR YOUR PERSONAL MECHANIC AND HAVE HIM DO A OBD SCAN IT WOULD TELL YOU ALL THE DEALER FAULT CODES.... AUTO ZONE IS FREE LOCAL MECHANIC AT LEAST $250 FOR A 10 MINUTE PROCESS
If it's only grinding in one gear, that tells me it's not a clutch issue. However, grinding in any gear is caused by a worn synchro inside the unit. changing the gear lube won't fix that. I'd suggest you do not wait on a repair or metal debris from failure will migrate through the lube and will cause problems with the entire unit.
