I would consider that behavior normal.

Testimonial: "I know it's supposed to turn on when the AC comes on, but it literally comes on for 2 seconds then goes off, then 5 seconds later comes back on for a couple seconds then goes off agin. And it repeats that."

My ac is acting funky. my ac will blow cold air as im moving. once i stop and idle for longer than 3 or 4 minutes, something will kick on and then it will start to blow hot air. as this happens, my car...

Start by checking to make sure that the a/c condensor and radiator is not full off debris. If the condensor and radiator were full of debris it will limit the air flow from the engine cooling fan which in tern will cause a high discharge pressure on the discharge on the a/c causing poor or no cooling at idle and could also cause vehicle to overheat. Check and make sure that the cooling fan as well as the condensor fan are coming on together when the a/c is turned on if equipped with 2 fans.

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 that will blow cold and hot air for only a few minutes. After that is only ambient air temps. It is a 5.7 ltr, automatic with only one set of climate controls. The heater core...

you say it will blow cold and hot air for only a few minutes. You don't say but I assume you mean will blow cold a few min. when turned on AC max , blow hot only a few min. when turned to heater hot. Assuming thats the situation and you say AC charged and shows good on the low side -you should charge the AC to a full charge on the low side will cause problems with the AC air compressor kicking on and off. I suggest while the engine is running and turned to AC cold max watch the AC air compressor clutch to see if it does indeed kick on and off if so charge completely. As far as the heater make certain you coolant is all the way to the top and the best way to do this is when engine is completely cold remove radiator cap and fill completely and completely close cap then fill overflow container just to the cold level. That should fix your problem.

If it doesn't cool at all there is a fault in the system preventing it from cooling down properly and building pressure like it should. You will need to have this checked by a service tech.

My sc1 over heats when at idle and only if ac or heat is turned off as soon as i turn onn ac heat drops imediately

you may want to check on the radiator fan. The AC has its own fan and once AC is on, the fan would help bring down the temperature. It is either the fan is not blowing or has become weak. You can check on the fan by pulling out the temp sensor on the lower radiator hose. The fan should blow at full speed when doing this.

Check on the water reserve the water inside it goes down, if not there may be a leak somewhere. Water vapor may be escaping and lessening the effectiveness of the cooling system. This may be a reason why the engine cools down after the AC fan is on.

AC blows cold while moving, and gets warmer while I'm stopped

There are two fans behind the radiator. One is suppose to begin running when the AC is turned on. The other is to cool the radiator when it gets too warm. Raise the hood with the engine running and AC "on"and see if at least one fan is running.

The blend door that regulates the airflow over the heater core may be stuck in the AC position. It is inside the case and is most difficult to get to. There may be a YouTube video that may help you locate it and test it.
