How does the hydro boost fell "funny" - does the brake pedal go to the floor? Do the brakes lock up? engage immediatly? Does the brake light stay on, come on while brakes are applied? Have a diagnostics test done on it at a local auto parts store (usually a free service; stores may vary) and see if any codes show up. If so, the person submitting the test can tell you what the code(s) mean, and what to do to fix the problem.

I have a 2000 ford focus no brake lights. with the brake lights the transmission would not go into drive .replaced the brake light switch checked fuse replaced turn signal switch with no results then i moved onto the wiper switch and replaced it as much to my supp rise it fixed the problems

That's a tough one. Maybe the tie rod ends are worn or other parts in the front end.

If these lights still work on your excursion then it is probably not a fuse problem. It sounds like it is a loose pin(s) with the trailer plug or a loose electrical connection(s) on the trailer or maybe the bulbs on the trailer are burned out.
