My 1999 lincoln continental is Pi**ing out all the oil I put in as I put it in. Not from the oil pan at all. I think its the front crankshaft seal.
The car has some problems and I have been babying her ever so gently, but the timing chains are about to go I cant afford to fix it. So I want to fix this last problem so I can atleast have it driving to try and sell her.... SADDDDDLYYY

timing cover is leaking oil betwwen cover and block
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the drive belt(s), fan and fan shroud. If equipped, remove the accessory drive belt pulley.
Remove the vibration damper retaining bolt and washer. Remove the vibration damper using a suitable puller.
Remove the accessory drive brackets attached to the timing cover.
Remove the A/C compressor, if equipped, and alternator bracket from the cylinder head and move to one side.
Remove the oil pan-to-timing case cover bolts and the cover-to-cylinder block bolts.
Remove the timing case cover front seal and gasket from the engine.
Cut off the oil pan side gasket end tabs and oil pan front seal
tabs flush with the front face of the cylinder block. Remove the gasket
tabs.
Clean the timing case cover, oil pan and cylinder block gasket surfaces.
Remove the crankshaft seal oil seal from the cover by prying it out with a suitable tool.
To install:
Install a new seal in the timing cover using a suitable seal installation tool.
Apply sealer to both sides of the replacement cover gasket and
position the gasket on the cylinder block. Cut the end tabs off the
replacement oil pan gasket corresponding to those cut off the original
gasket. Attach the end tabs to the oil pan with sealer.
Coat the front cover seal end tab recesses generously with sealer and position the seal on the timing cover.
Apply engine oil to the seal-oil pan contact surface, then position the cover on the cylinder block.
Insert timing case cover alignment tool J22248 or equivalent, in
the crankshaft opening. Install the cover-to-cylinder block bolts and
tighten them to 62 inch lbs. (7 Nm). Install and tighten the oil
pan-to-cover bolts to 11 ft. lbs. (13 Nm).
Remove the cover alignment tool and position a replacement oil
seal on the tool with the seal lip facing outward. Apply a light coat of
sealer to the seal and a light coat of oil to the crankshaft. Install
the seal on the timing cover.
Apply a light film of oil to the vibration damper hub seal
contact surface. Install the vibration damper using a suitable
installation tool.
Do not hammer the damper into place as damage may result to the damper or engine.
Install and tighten the crankshaft vibration damper bolt to 80 ft. lbs. (108 Nm).
If equipped, install the crankshaft pulley and tighten the bolts to 20 ft. lbs. (27 Nm).
Install the accessory brackets.
Install the fan and fan shroud.
Install the drive belt(s) and adjust to the proper tension.
Check the vacuum lines going from trans to the intake. Sometimes that will cause it to rev real hi and shift real hard. Even a small leak. They prob jast dropped the pan and changed filter b4. That leaves the oil in the lines there. you have to pump it all out to change it all. My trans in my lincoln just went out. So i would say it wouldnt hurt to change it. Put some lucus trans treatment in it to. Couldnt hurt.
Locate the camshaft sprocket alignment mark in the 6 o'clock position and install the camshaft sprocket and timing chain
Camshaft sprocket bolts and tighten the camshaft sprocket bolts;
Torque to: 26 ft. lbs. (35 Nm)
Oil pump
NOTE: Do not lubricate the oil seal sealing surface.
Lubricate the outer edge of the oil seal with clean engine oil.
Lubricate the front cover oil seal bore with clean engine oil.
Install the crankshaft front oil seal with a suitable seal installer.
NOTE: Do not apply any type sealant to the front cover gasket (unless specified). Special tools are used to properly align the engine front cover at the oil pan surface and to center the crankshaft front oil seal.
Install the front cover gasket, cover, and bolts onto the engine.
Install the front cover-to-oil pan bolts and do not overtighten.
Tighten the cover bolts finger tight and do not overtighten.
J41480 installation-4.8L, 5.3L & 6.0L
Start the J41480 or other suitable tool to front cover bolts but don’t tighten the bolts yet.
NOTE: Align the tapered legs of the tool with the machined alignment surfaces on the front cover.
Seal alignment tool installation-4.8L, 5.3L & 6.0L
Install tool J41476 or other suitable tool.
Install the crankshaft balancer bolt and tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt by hand until snug but do not overtighten.
Tighten the J41480 bolts and front cover bolts;
Torque to: 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
Remove the tools.
NOTE: Place a straight edge across the engine block and front cover oil pan sealing surfaces. Avoid contact with the portion of the gasket that protrudes into the oil pan surface. Insert a feeler gauge between the front cover and the straight edge tool. The cover must be flush with the oil pan surface or no more than 0.5 mm (0.02 in) below flush. If the front cover-to-engine block oil pan surface alignment is not within specifications, repeat the cover alignment procedure. If the correct front cover-to-engine block alignment cannot be obtained, replace the front cover.
Snug the oil pan-to-cover bolts in order to position the cover at the pan rail.
Tighten the oil pan-to-front cover bolts;
Torque to: 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
Tighten the front cover bolts;
Torque to: 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
Install the crankshaft balancer and bolt (See: Crankshaft Damper).
Install the water pump (See: Water Pump).
Fill the engine to the proper level with oil.
Fill the engine to the proper level with coolant.
Test drive the vehicle to confirm the repairs.
6.6L EngineTo Remove: NOTE: The 6.6L engine uses gears in place of a timing chain. For removal and installation, please see the Camshaft and Lifters procedure. This procedure covers the removal of the front cover and seal.
Before servicing the vehicle refer to the precautions at the beginning of this section.

Tighten to 20 Nm (14 Lb-Ft), then rotate 60 degrees clockwise Installation
Inspect oil pump screen cover and tube and replace if necessary.
Position oil pump screen cover and tube on oil pump with a new O-ring and hand-start two bolts.
Install bolt retaining oil pump screen cover and tube to main bearing stud spacer finger-tight.
Tighten oil pump screen cover and tube-to-oil pump bolts to 8-12 Nm (71-106 lb-in). Tighten oil pump screen cover and tube to main bearing stud spacer bolt to 20-30 Nm (15-22 lb-ft).
Clean oil pan and inspect for damage.
Clean sealing surfaces of engine front cover (6019) and cylinder blocks with a clean cloth. If scraping is required, only use plastic-tipped scrapers to prevent damaging the aluminum sealing surfaces.
Position new oil pan gasket on oil pan.
Apply Silicone Gasket and Sealant F6AZ-19562-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSE-M4G323-A6 where engine front cover meets cylinder blocks and crankshaft rear oil seal retainer meets cylinder blocks. Position oil pan on cylinder blocks and install 16 bolts. Tighten bolts in sequence to 20 Nm (14 lb-ft), then rotate an additional 60 degrees clockwise.
The simple answer is, bolted to the bottom of the engine. Ford and Lincoln vehicle generally have the cross member right under the engine, so the oil pan is obscured by it. Many oil pans on rear wheel drive Ford products have 2 oil sumps or wells, 1 near the front just behind the belt pulleys, and the other just behind the cross member, this one also has the oil drain plug for oil changes. Not sure why you are looking for the oil pan, so I hope this helps.
