Which engine, we cant guess it.
some are diesel and have no spark plugs.
x2,
some engines have distributors if yes, the high voltage spark wires, clearly go to the spark plugs.
on newer gas engines, they have coil pack or
even COPS. coil over plugs. and those must come off to reach the spark plugs.
some cars have coil pack, see those HV wires, same deal
there, covered all classes of engine. one post.
dizzy
coil pack 1 or 2.
COPS
2001 line up
1.3 L M13A I4 (petrol)
1.5 L M15A I4 (petrol)
1.3 L I4 (diesel)
case in point M15
see this photo
see these, its a mix of coil packs and cops.
called wasted spark cops.
they fire on pairs with wasted spark setup.
1 and 4 fire together, as clearly seen above.
the HV sides are wired in SERIES to do that magic.
nexg time post country and real engine name.
we cant guess, either. here, on the WWW !
as you see in the center, line there. M15A
all that must be removed to reach the spark plugs. and is true on all real COP sparked engines. on my suzuki v6, there are 6 COPS.
and all 6 must be removed.
the fsm covers this.
as does alldata.com
as does suzukipitstopplus.
google that.

Not sure exactly on your model but generally at the top of the engine between the camshafts. It could be necessary to remove a cover for access. If in doubt follow the plug wires.
short answer, they are screwed into the combustion chambers,
and are always on top or the side of head.
most are on top now.
(usa smog rules, reason) (or just better)
centralized spark (works best)
the COPS hide them on most new cars.
The FSM covers all this. (factory service manual, and all store sold rags on same)
and all on line FSM do to. ( 3 major)
like ALLDATA.com (best of best)
