The slave cylinder for your clutch has a valve in it, which keeps the clutch from engaging too quickly. The purpose is to keep you from just dumping the clutch and wreaking havoc on your transmission. If you're confident that you don't need that extra safety device in there, you can remove it, just google slave cylinder valve removal. It will give your clutch more of an aftermarket feel.
Actual specs can be found at the dealer or in a Hayne's manual in the local auto parts store. After 17 years of doing this, I'd just take my air gun & stagger tighten the bolts,until snug, then go over them with no more than 3 "clicks" of the air gun. It'll work fine,guarunteed.
Possibility, you may have intalled the clutch disk backwards.... if so, the disk hub is torqued against the crankshaft hub preventing engagement of the clutch.
2003 TIBUORN DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL AND CLUTCH DISC ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
DESCRIPTION:
The 2003 MY 2.7L Tiburon vehicle equipped with the 6-speed manual transaxle employs a dual mass flywheel system. The 2003 Tiburon Shop Manual does not show the clutch disc assembly with the dual mass flywheel. This bulletin provides information about how to assemble these components.
NOTE
Although it is possible to assemble the clutch disc with either side facing the flywheel surface, only the assembly of these two parts shown in this bulletin is correct.
PARTS ASSEMBLY:
Attach the dual mass flywheel to the engine crankshaft assembly.
Identify the clutch disc flange side and the collar side as shown.
Install the collar side of the clutch disc on the dual mass flywheel surface so that the flange side is facing the pressure plate side as shown.
Attach the pressure plate to the dual mass flywheel and complete assembly of the remaining components per the Shop Manual procedures.
