What is model year of vehicle? I looked at info, 2000 dodge caravan 3.0L engine, it showed coil pack no distributor.
I guess my database could be wrong, just trying to figure it out?
Did you check the fuel pump relay ? The relay gets power from a fuse and also from the PCM relay. The computer grounds the relay to turn it on for 3 seconds when you turn the key on, then only after the computer "sees" RPM or oil pressure.
Check the fuse 1st, then change the fuel pump relay with another relay the same but something like headlight relay or something that won't stop the car from working. Check for power at pump while the key is turned by someone else to the on posision & while cranking, some vehicles run fuel pump power through alternator circuit so will only get power while cranking & drive belt on
You need to check the crank sensor, this controls tthe injector pulse. If it will attempt to start with alternate fuel but not on its own, it sounds like the injectors arent pulsing, so your not getting fuel. Try the crank sensor first.
another way to test it unplug any fuel line you can locate tell a friend to start key one turn only if the line squirts fuel then pump is working and it might need regulator if not then pump is gone
did you already make sure the theft system is not triggered???? the security light will blink on dash, when the key is on. if blinking, email [email protected] for how to reset this.
