Fuel pump??? two ways to test one good, one not so good. fist, without cranking over the motor, have someone go and listne in the back where the fuel tank is and try and here if there is a whirring sound when the key is put in the on position. you might not be able to here it. second (have a rag handy) undo one of the fuel lines and see if there is any pressure going to it = if none = dead fuel pump. third way....if it is easy to access the top of the fuel tank where the pump is, do so. remove pump and see if it works. also, if its an externally mounted pump, gently tap it with a wrench on the outside of the pump casing...this an actually make them work for a short time.

2005 chevy tahoe wont start

One of two things is possibly wrong, the starter solenoid is bad or the starter has failed. Sounds like you battery is fine.

When this happens check for power on the s terminal At the starter while someone holds the key in the crank position. I suspect a faulty ignition switch.

My 2003 chevy tahoe won't start in the morning

Many possible causes....Too little info to make an intelligent suggestion. Try charging the problem vehicle's battery with jumper cables for 2 minutes with the supply vehicle running at fast idle (or about 1500-2000 RPM, if it is tachometer equipped) before you try to crank the problem vehicle on a cold morning. If it starts right up, you likely have a weak battery that needs replacing.

When I start my 2005 Chevy Tahoe LT there is a grinding sound and it won't start, so I turn the key back and stop, wait and then the next time I turn the key it starts just fine. It has done this 3...

Sounds like you are having a problem with the starting motor. When activated, it throws out a gear to engage with the flywheel on the end of the engine. If there is not enough energy to fully engage the gear, or the gear does not engage properly due to misalignment, you may hear a grinding noise. Have the starting motor serviced or replaced.

I have a 2005 Chevy Tahoe. When about to pull off the lot after just having my tires rotated and balanced, followed by a fuel injection service, I started my truck and "Service Stability"...

if you had just serviced the fuel injectors, then it was probably just the system resetting itself and priming the injectors.

if it was only on for a few seconds and hasn't been since, and the car runs fine, then i would not worry about it too much.

ask the centre that did the service. they will probably tell you the same thing.

it may not be the starter motor it might be the solenoid, the solenoid is basically a big switch that activates the starter,it has contacts inside that come together to when you turn the key to start, for some reason these contacts are not making contact,it may need to be replaced.....hope this helps.....cheers
