I tried to put a 2001 chevy suburban 2500 in four

I tried to put my 2001 chevy suburban 2500 in four wheel drive high from 2WD with the push button. The lights on the 4WD controls all went out and service 4wd light came on. It is not the main 4WD fuse. Haven't heard any strabge sounds. I unhooked the battery for a whiel hoping to reset the transfer case but that had no effect.

I have a 1994 chevy suburban that when i turn right, the passenger side rear wheel try to drag on the street and the same for the driver side rear wheel when i turn left.

Hi,
If you have a Four-Wheel Drive Suburban, it sounds like it's in 4WD HIGH. Check the switch on the dash and change to AWD or 2WD....do not use the 4WD Low (unless you're stuck in mud).

I have a 1996 chevy blazer and dont know how to disengage from four wheel drive to two wheel drive?

As I recall the 96 blazer had electronic shifting for 2wd to 4wd. There should be a small panel on the drivers dash buttons for 2wd, 4wd lo and 4wd hi.

Simply press the desired button while stationary and if the system is functioning properly then it will shift and the light for the engaged type of drive will be lighted. Generally you would like to be in 2wd for this vehicle.

2001 2500 suburban , will not always engage into 4 wheel when button is pushed , nothing happens , then when it does sometimes it will not go back to 2 wheel drive .

There is an electrical conection called a servo and this might need to be replaced. It actuates the 4 wheel drive when the button is depressed

You probably have a bad encoder motor. It is located on the side of the transfer case on the drivers side.It is black. The other problem they had with these was the switch but you have already replaced this so your next thing is the encoder motor.Hope this helps.Good luck.

1993 4X4 BLASER 4WHEEL DRIVE

Your blazer is equipped with a shift on the fly four wheel drive. That means that at speeds less than fifteen miles per hour you can shift into or out of four wheel drive by simply pushing the four wheel high button. If you wish to shift into four wheel low. Stop, put the transmission into park or neutral, and push the four wheel low button. Same procedure for shifting back out. Never shift into or out of four wheel low while moving. And be careful in four wheel low. At full throttle your still barely moving, you don't want to blow your engine up!
