What year vehicle ? The clicking sound you hear from bake seat is probably a relay ! There is a fuse / relay box under the back seat ! How did you check the starter relay ? Just pull it out an look at it ? Was it #36 START 1 Relay
-- Starter Solenoid and PCM in the under hood fuse / relay Box ?
This relay is computer energized - PCM supply's a ground to circuit 447 which energizes the relay sending voltage to the starter S terminal engaging the starter . Do you have a test light or a volt ohm meter ? If you pull out the starter relay an look on the bottom you will see some numbers , 85,86 an 30,87 . match them up to the holes they came out of . Check out this video on YouTube ,you can check for voltage an computer control . Is the SECRUITY light lit on the dash ?

You need to run a diagnostic on the ECM and check for error codes. This will eliminate the guesswork or you'll end up chasing yourself and throwing money/time at it.

I put a starer and she still wont start all i get is a 'click' sound

Step 1:

First check the starter relay fuse. Replace it even if the fuse looks good.

Step 2:

If you are sure the fuse is not the problem then ensure that the battery if fully charged and is working properly. Turn on the interior light then turn on the headlights. The interior light should dim momentarily then go bright again. If it stays dim check and charge the battery.

Step 3:

If the battery is not the problem, check if the battery is grounded properly. The ground wire is connected to the negative terminal of the battery. Make sure it has a good connection to the engine block, i.e. there must be no rust, no paint and it must be fastened tightly. Also ensure that all heavy connections are tight and secure, as any looseness will cause the clicking sound.

Step 4:

If it still does not start, jump the starter's two heavy solenoid terminals with a screwdriver. FOR YOUR SAFETY THE CAR MUST BE IN NEUTRAL OR PARK WHEN YOU DO THIS because the starter should jump and turn now! The ground is the problem if it turns.

Step 5:

If it still only clicks the solenoid may be faulty. Replace this if you did not get a new solenoid with the starter.

Step 6:

If the solenoid is new then check the neutral safety switch located on the transmission. To find the switch follow the cable from the shifter to the transmission. A faulty switch will prevent the engine from starting.

Step 7:

If all these steps fail you will have to ask a professional to resolve this problem because specialized equipment will be required for perform further diagnostic tests.

My 1996 oldsmobile aurora wont start with a jump.it makes a clicking noise.what is it?alternator or starter?

Sounds like it would be the starter, but make sure you are using a good pair of jumper cables, and they are making a good connection to each vehicle. Also check to see that your battery terminals are tight.

Sierra 1500 wont turn over 350. locked up???

Have the battery tested for a dead cell. It may test at 12 volts but that doesn't mean there isn't a dead cell. Also, if the motor has good compression you probably shouldn't be able to turn it over by hand at the fly wheel. Maybe an old school motor with V belt, but not a newer motor with all those accessories attached to the front.

Im not sure what you mean by I jumped out the starter relay and the starter engaged.
so i am going to assume that you jumped from the battery side to the starter side on the relay and that engaged the starter... which is fine but you say the relay clicks when u turn the key. Pull off the clip on wire from the relay and push it against the battery side connection on the relay (u may need a small screwdriver to assist the connection) the relay should cause the starter to engage. If it just clicks (my bet) then you need to replace the relay (its really called a solenoid )
