Wheel is locked up will not engage shifter move from Park to drive

1 Set the emergency brake.
2 Insert key into the ignition and turn the ignition switch to the "ON" or "RUN" position. It is not necessary to start the engine.
3 Locate the shift lock override slot located on the shifter console near the shifter lever. Normally, the slot is plugged with a small plastic cap. Remove the cap.
4 Insert a small screwdriver, nail file, key or similarly shaped object into the override slot, push down and hold
5 While continuing to hold down the shift override mechanism, depress the brake pedal.
6 Now, grasp the shifter, push in the release button located on the shifter as you normally do and then move the shifter to the desired gear. If you've completed these steps with the engine off, move the shifter to the Neutral position to start the engine.

Dont know if this helps

I dont have the key to my lincolntown car 1992 how to i switch the ignition switch

Drop the panel below the steering column and remove the metal plate behind it. then look up into the whole and you will see a white box white a large connector and a bunch of wires going into it. i believe it's like a t35 or t40 torx to remove the white box. this is your electrical part of the ignition switch. once you remove it there will either be a pin sticking out of the box or a small round hole in the long slot. move the pin or stick a screwdriver in the slot to move it to where you want it. if you push it far enough the car should start. just make sure you have it off and not on acc when you turn it back off.

Ignition locks

I would say that the pins in the tumbler are sticking (Bit worn) . Try puffing some powered graphite into the key slot and inserting the key in several times to lubricate the pins and see if that makes a difference.

Key loose / does not stick in ignition slot

Diagnosis: Basically, the ignition slot thinks the key is in so the lock mechanism is in place, which prevents the key fob from going in all the way.

Solution: Insert your finger all the way into the slot. Curl your finger slightly so that the tip touches the bottom. Pull your finger out slowly and your finger will "unlock" the mechanism. You will hear a click sound and also feel it being unlocked. Try inserting your key fob into the slot.

How much tranamission fluid does my 1997 sable hold

If you have your owners manual, there is a section containing the capacities for all fluids. You may also simply check your fluid level, with a running motor and warm transmission. If the stick indicates add, start with a 1/4 quart and work your way up. Unless there is a problem with the trans, there is no real reason to ever add fluid unless your are flushing the transmission.

How Do I Use Shiftronic

It is still just an ordinary automatic transmission the difference is there is a slot at the bottom of the the shifter gate that allows you to push the shift knob from side to side.
So basically when you put the shifter in that posistion its in "D" (Drive) just like any other automatic but while its in that slot pushing it to the "+" side or the "-" side of the slot will change gears up or down accordingly.
The only reason for this set up is to give people who cant drive a stick shift, or dont want to drive a stick shift the ability to feel like they are driving a stick.
It really offers no real benefit to performance.
