If you are looking at adding r134a to the system, the new hoses you get with the r134a will only fit on the low side of the system. It is not like in the old days and the gage would fit on both sides. What with that said the low side is the one going to the dryer and the line is normally larger than the high pressure side. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Searching for low-side port to recharge AC on 1997

hello dsouris: Locate the A/C accumulator on the left inner fender well. This will be a round aluminum cylinder with two lines coming out of it. Follow the large line that runs back to the firewall. You should see a shadder valve in this line. This will be the suction line or low side line. This will be the line used to charge the A/C system. If you need further help please just ask. If this information please rate the information as it helps.Thank You for using FixYa. Roger

SOURCE: ac low side service port location

Your service port will always be in the larger line of the two .. which is low pressure side. It might be in the dryer also which is low side.. your dryer is about 3 inches across and 8 inches long and also has your pressure switch for the AC compressor in it.. holler if you dont find it now... thanks Jerry

Low ac port side

The low side A/C service port is located in the low side line nearest to A/C compressor. Due to the design of low side hose, it is difficult to see. When looking down to locate the port, the low side rubber A/C line obstructs the view to the port. I would recommend removing top engine cover and driver side front plastic cover (That Covers ECU And Relays) to easily view the port and it will make it easier to access it if you need to charge the A/C system. Hope this helps you out.

Which port is the low side-(fill side) used to put freon in a 99 mercury mystique 6cylinder

Hello, the low side is normally the one closest to the big silver tank looking thing, also if you bought a refill kit at a parts store, the hose that comes with the kit will only fit on the low side port, and it will Not even fit on the wrong high side port, the low side will have a smaller fitting and high side has a bigger fitting that will make it impossible to screw it on to that high side, so don't try to jam it on , if it doesn't fit nice your at the wrong port. one more thing when you buy a refill kit, it will have some directions as to witch is the low side port, Good luck with cold air system.

Where is the 1993 Chevy S10 pickup truck low side port

The low side port is in the low side line from the AC compressor, this is the larger of the two lines from the compressor. The charging hose will not hook up to the wrong port as they are completely different.

I am trying to put R134A in my car, and I wanted to make sure I put it in the low side service port, but I am having problems figuring out which one is the low side service port

The R134A connection hose will only fit on the low side service port. The high side port is bigger and will not fit that hose.

Which port is the low side port for ac charging on 1997 gmc jimmy

The low side port is always the smaller fitting on the larger line. The high side is always the larger fitting on the smaller line. They do this so that the low side fitting can not be mixed up and placed on a high side port.

Looking for the low port to recharge my air

A/C low side ports are located on the 'thicker' plumbing vs. the 'thinner' plumbing coming off of the compressor.

Just follow the low side pipes from the compressor to the first low side port. It should also fit a quick connector onthe hose/can combination for r134a. The high pressure side port will not work with the low side hose quick connector.

Hope this helps.

Need to see a picture of high and low ports and their locations on a silverado pickup. can only find two ports on the same line -one smaller than the other.

That's them, and only ones, there's an orfic tube in between both ports in the line, that's what changes the pressure from high to low, from one end of the orfic tube to the other, the small port will be the low side, that the one you recharge in, and the big one is high side.Hope this was very helpful.

Where is low side port for recharging a/c. on my 1997 s10. I found 2 ports one on the accumulator and one on the tube, however my charging kit port only fit the port on the accumulator. I assume this port...

The port on the accumulator is the low side. The high side port is smaller than the low side. The low side port is the one that gets cold when the compressor is running.

Where to locate low pressure port

both of the a/c service ports should be located next to the pass. side strut tower. the low side adapter may be hard to find though. If youcan not find it there, it is possible that the low side port could possibly be at the dryer on the drivers side front up beside the condensor
