SOURCE: Front power windows work intermittently, fuses are good and has a new main control switch.

Has the window motor been replaced? This is a classic symptom of defective window motor. Next time this happens hit the door panel, if the window starts working again that confirms the problem is the motor. This is not fool proof but in most cases the motor will restart, hit the panel down low a few times.

WELL IF YOU REPLACED MAIN WINDOW SWITCH MORE LIKELY THE OTHER WINDOWS SWITCHES COULD BE BAD CAUSING PROBLEMS.

Windows don't work on a 1998 Camry

There are three fuses that can be attributed to the power window system; Door Fuse (25A), Power Fuse (30A) and Gauge Fuse (10A) which are all located in the instrument panel junction block behind the dashboard, just to the left of the steering column. If one of the fuses has blown, there could be a short-to-ground condition in the wiring circuit between the fuse and the load, or the load itself could be pulling too much amperage for one reason or another. I think it's unlikely that a fuse has blown in this situation though as the power door lock system utilizes the same 3 fuses and per the original post, the system is still functioning correctly. In that case, the most likely culprit is the power window master switch. The power window master switch simply gets used more than the other window switches and therefore tends to wear out before the others. Before performing circuit testing to confirm (or replacing the switch), make sure the child lock switch within the master switch didn't accidentally get switched to the ON position. No power to power windows

Have you actually checked for power at the driver's master switch?
I don't think there would be a window relay, there is probably a power window circuit breaker in the instrument panel fuse box.
If no windows work, pull the master switch out and check for one hot wire with key on. If none, check for broken wires in driver's door opening. Your ground for the windows will be in that group of wires too. Both must work for windows to operate. If you have power and good ground at the master switch, and no windows work, probably a bad master switch.

1990 Corolla. None of Power windows operate from master switch at driver's door, or from local switches at each door itself. Cannot find fuse labeled for power windows (ie PW). All fuses read good

Hello. Welcome to FixYa.

The most common cause of this issue is a bad master switch on the driver side door. Another common cause is a broken power wire that powers up the master switch. CHeck the wries on the connector of the master switch with a 12 vlt DC testlight, with the key on. If you have power, the wire is good, and the switch is probably bad.

My power windows dont work

First I would check the fuses if there good then make sure you have power to the switch. You can check that with a test light on the main connector to the door.If you have power to the switch Then make sure that the master lock for the windows is off. Then if that doesn't work check for continuity across the switch. The main thing I would check are the fuses and the master window lock first if none of the windows are working.

Cost of repairning windows

Hi there,

Well if none of your windows work more then likely it is a master window switch witch would be the one big switch on your drivers front door. Have you tried using the switch on the other doors to see if any of the windows work? If none of the switches work try checking the fuses and relay's first. A fuse or relay is easy and less then $20 for the part and you can do yourself just read the fuse box to locate the part. If you need a master switch call a junk yard the switch can be less then $80 there just pay someone a few dollars to install it. If the problem only related to single window then it sounds like the window motors are bad. On average, the price of a reconditioned window motor (check O'reilly or Autozone) installed on that car is about $150-$200 per window. Please post comments if you need more help or information.........

Good Luck!!

Thanks
