The most common problem?!?!?!
FORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Next time you have occasion to pull the instrument cluster. I suggest you remove that pesky bulb and be done with it! That "anti -lock" system was a joke anyway. Who puts "anti-lock" on the REAR??????????
They really didn't think this through did they!
Oh and just one more little pet peeve of mine.
ALL FULL SIZE BRONCOS ARE 4X4!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND ALL FULL SIZE TOPS COME OFF TOO!!!!!!!
Broncos are known for bad fuel pumps in the tank. Hopefully you do not have a full tank of fuel and will be able to drop the tank fairly easily. Please use a jack when lowering the tank as someone could get hurt. I myself cut a door in the floor of the cargo area to access the fuel pump without having to drop the tank you will see once dropping the tanks how this could definitely come in handy in your near future.
as you can see all wires go with the loop on them go to the side nearest to the firewall, plug one on top and starter wire goes to the one closest to the battery.
What you have is an E4OD transmission and will work with all Ford small block engines (300, 302, 351) in F150,F250, F350 and full size Broncos from 1983-1993.
Ford full size Broncos are somewhat easy,i own one.if you hear a click from the starter solenoid under the hood on the passengers side fender, then the solenoid is good and the ignition switch is working. So,reach underneath and lightly hit the starter with a hammer a few times,if it starts then replace the starter..By hitting the starter causes the brushes to connect which most of the time will make it work, but that trick only lasts a few times.A new brush kit is only about $20.00 if you know how to fix them, but its really easy anyways.A new starter is about $90.00,the hardest part is the top bolt on the starter which holds it to the transmission, they rust and come out harder, tools needed is:13 mm 6 point shallow well socket, swivel, and about 9 inches worth of extensions,a wratchet, and for the wire that connects to the starter i believe a 14 mm socket,be careful with the little wire, the connector on the end may break.
Seats out of a similar year F150 will work. Or find a reputable automotive upholstery shop and have new covers made. You can go to a website called Full Size Broncos. Its a free forum and it can answer a lot of your questions about your Bronco
