you should be checking the Oil Level more often than 5K miles but my 2009 Toyota Corolla burns oil (Not a LEAK), just consumes oil (1 Quart every 2K miles). It has done this since it was Brand New and Toyota said (ADD MORE OIL).... So that is what we have done. Watch the level and make sure you add more.
Your belt will need to be changed again at roughly 150000 miles.Whenever replacing components that relate to timing you should do them all at the same time. it is a difficult and time consuming job to get to the timing gear so for the sake of just changing the hydraulic tensioner and paying to get the belt changed again within a short period of time. its smarter to get it all done at once, and not pay someone to do the job twice. if you do it all now, you can wait another 60000 miles to get it done rather than doing just the hydraulic and then having to do it all again in only 20000 miles.Hope that helps.

From the Owner's Manual: replace the timing belt @ "110k miles or 7 years whichever comes first". We have 73k on our Ex and have had no problems with the automatic ... in fact it is the smoothest shifting auto that I've ever driven. I did a fluid change (incomplete ... u can't drain the entire transaxle) at 60k which is the recommended interval for "severe" service.

It is overdue time to change your timing belt and waterpump, as you are on borrowed time on the timing belt. The waterpump and tensioner should be changed along with the timing belt, as they can ruin a new timing belt if they fail. Your serpentine belt should be inspected and replaced if needed too.
look at mileage. the replacement of the timing belt needs to be done at 60,000 miles. you risk severe damage if this is not done. these belts costs around $300-400 to do.
I would think that you would not need much done, if the timing belt was just changed, but perhaps your transmission servicing should still be done, as that would not have been done with the belt change. Of course, your normal oil changes need to be done too.
Did u add oil and attempt to start car? What's it doing? How often did u have to add a quart of oil (in miles)? It does sound like it was consuming too much oil, but once u run it dry, there is no warantee that will cover it, so manufacturer can't (won't) help u on this. I agree, an engine rebuild would be VERY expensive due to no oil damage, the best thing to do (if the car is in good shape otherwise, trans. good, body good) would be to find a used motor from a scrap yard (must be careful to check mileage and that the 'donor' car wasn't in a bad front end collision which may cause engine problems) or a re-manufactured engine.
