Hi,if you got a switch that just switches on and off and take the live wire from the ignition and cut and put the switch on,then if some one trys to start the car there will be know power.
or there is one that you can put in between the battery on the live cable.hope this was some help.

Ignition switch....the electrical ignition switch. To verify, find the thick white wire in the harness coming from the switch and do two things; first, check for power at this wire, when you switch the key position to start. If nothing, power the wire momentarily with the key in the run position, and your car should start.

Why don't you just buy a new ignition switch and put it back together the way it was originally designed instead of "rigging" something that will probably end up burning your car to the ground?

This year vehicle has an antitheft system on it. You may not be able to hotwire it. This link explains the system.

if you have the key it not hard buy a resitor pack from radio shack have some one read the ohms across the key cut the orange spongey wire you will see 2 white wires in it wire the resistor between these to wires and your done

2003 chevy malibu won't start and seems to be with the fuel pump

first access the ignition switch through the center part of the dash where the radio and climate control are. then locate a thin yellow wire attached to the ignition switch. start your car. then cut the wire. varify the car starts again then tape up the wire you cut put everything back together and there you go.
