How do I hotwire fuel pump?

Wich cables do I use to make a switch to turn it on manually? I already checked the fuel pump and it is running when I hook it up to the battery but not when I plug it up in the car

One reason the fuel pump is not getting power is a defective camshaft sensor. When the camshaft sensor goes bad, the computer in the car will not allow power to the fuel pump and no power to the spark plugs too. Why would you need to hotwire something that is already wired correctly in the first place. Some part is defective. You just cannot bypass the problem to fix it.

1996 toyota celica ST 7AFE AUTO

USA?
park lockout failure for sure.
scan it,and check all fuses first.
lots of causes. this old.
bad cam belt,if has one. 7AFE, it does and slipped. oops must be fixed first ,not one belt ever lasted 26 years,. eva.
bad spark.
The PCM runs spark not you, not hotwired,
sure all starters made hotwire with easy as you just did.
PCM will not make spark if PRNDL switch fails and PARK and Neutral shows up as neutral not R- Reverse. or D or L. fail.
PCM runs the pump NOT you, if PCM spark fail it cuts all fuel injection and maybe pump too.
EFI relay pin 1 is E1 to ground body, that?
if the P/N switch fail the starter relay will be dead
60amp main fuse blown makes ST relay dead too.
No SHIFT lock wiring I am read the SM schematics to you here.
fuse good CIG-RAD fuse good, ecu-IG and STOP fuse good.
toyota schematics are joy to read, unlike trash from germans.
shift lock control switch not bad in shifter.
Shift lock cPU board not bad or shift lock solenoid not bad
the later unlocks the shifter.
the same CPU BOARD UNLOCKS THE KEY.

My son says his truck won't start with the key but will when hotwired. Possible problems?

if it wont start with the key only when hotwired my idea would go in the direction of the ignition barrel
hotwired start means its not the fuel pump because it runs
its possible the barrel isnt making the connection at the start position

Check your fusible links (wires that act like a fuse). The fusible links are located on the battery post on the starter, and some are located on the positive battery cable.

92 F-350, 460 auto, two tanks/pumps. I have no current to either pump. Fuses and relays are good. A hot wire to pump turns pump on. Not seeing a switching valve, just the dash selector switch. Bypassing...

if the fuses and relays are good then have you check the dash switch, you may have to check the wiring(powers)from the pump back through the system until you find were you have lost power.

Does or did the check engine light come on? When you had the fuel pump hotwired did it or will it - start the motor and run? If yes to first question then have the codes read. Did you check all fuses and relays for the fuel pump.Check fuel pump pressure once you get the fuel pump working. And if you feal the spark is weak then replace the ignition coil, check distributor cap and rotter replace if nesessary. And there is a little discrepency in your add I do not know if I am dealing with a 91 or a 98 chevy? Engine turns over, no fuel. fuel pumps not running. no electricity to enertia switch. no manual. dont know wich fuse. 1996 Ford F-250, 351, 5 spd, 2 wd.

the fuse should be under the left side of the hood if you are standing in front of the truck its going to be in the insterment panel with the relay and other things check that out and if the fuse is fine then check the wireing

Engine won't start

Check all of the battery terminals and cables and check the wires on the starter/selonoid, start from the battery and follow the cable out and check all conections , clean and tighten them and if it still does it the starter/selonoid is bad and needs replacement...

also check the ignition switch and ignition module.
