As Jeremy W suggested, the best and cheapest option is to take the vehicle documents to a main dealer and they will be able to cut a key for you! Also what sort of locksmith did you call out who could not drill out the lock and replace it, that's there job isn't it?

Why don't you bring the title to your local dodge dealer and have them make a key?

I have lost the key to my 93 jeep cherokee and need to replace cylinder with new cylinder and key. Ignition and wheel is locked. How do I remove old cylinder without key..

STOP! Don't do anything before you get a price from a locksmith for a service call I had to do that once at my shop and I was amazed at how inexpensive it was and the cool tricks they have with steering columns and other car locks. I hope this helps. Take care. If you need that procedure I'm sure I can find something if the locksmith doesn't work out.

I replaced the transceiver ring in my 2003 taurus lost keys. Had buddy drill out ignition cylinder i will replace cylinder but how do ii get keys to start car

I would definately recommend calling a locksmith. Make sure that they are capable of such, some locksmiths will turn this down 'because it's difficult'. It's not, you need a new ignition cylinder a locksmith can install that and program those new keys for you. Maybe even rekey your doors to match.
It depends on the condition of the ignition you currently have. Sometimes I suggest just replacing the cylinder, something I will take it out and replace wafers to ensure it turns smooth. But a Taurus, a locksmith can help you easily, the dealer will charge too much, and I don't think a mechanic can do all the same steps.
Hopefully this helps.

Lost my key and cant statr my car how do i use a scewdriver in the ignition to start it?

you can't use a screwdriver in the ignition switch to start the engine,if you try you will most likely destroy it & have to replace it,( the ignition switch) depending on the model of your vehicle you may be able to go to a dealer & buy a replacement key,if you have an owners manual for the vehicle the key number may be in it otherwise you might have to get a locksmith to see if they can cut you another key.......hope this helps......cheers.

I lost my key for an 98 ford explorer and i just got a key made but wont trun the locksmith made a key from the door lock we put it in the ignition but it wont trun

There should be 8 cuts total on the key. While the door and the ignition share some of the same cuts you cannot get all the cuts from one cylinder. I believe that the door cylinder only uses 6 cuts and the ignition cylinder uses 7 cuts. The cut closest to the head of the key is #1 and the cut closest to the tip is #8. If I remember correctly the ignition cylinder uses cuts 1 - 7 and the door cylinder uses cuts 3 - 8.If the locksmith cannot decode the ignition cylinder you can try to contact you local ford dealer and see if they can find a key code and cut a key from that otherwise you may have to replace your ignition cylinder.

Lost keys

Why are you taking out the old one. Check with any good locksmith. If your door key fits the ignition, you can easily remove a door lock cylinder and the locksmith can make you a new key!!! I'm pretty sure to remove your lock you need to turn it with the key in it (but you don't have one)

Lost key for 1993 ford tempo

The best thing you can do is to probably make him work a few odd jobs to start paying you back for the $75 it's probably going to cost to have a locksmith come out to re-key the ignition cylinder. Without the original key, you can't even remove the old ignition cylinder to replace it with an aftermarket one, so a locksmith is probably the best way to go. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that's about all you can do at this point, shy of replacing the entire steering column, or trying to break the existing cylinder so that you can replace it with a new one. Hope this has proven useful. Try to have yourself a nice evening!

Oh yeah...don't be too hard on him. I lost the keys to my '85 Nissan 300ZX Turbo 3 times before I finally learned my lesson. Kids will be kids...but I'd still make him pay for it...lol.
