1.1 mm is the standard gap for a platinum tipped plug. Plugs for this car usually come pre-set but it's always worth checking before installing. Hope this helps.
SOURCE: 2000 VW jetta; what is the torque for valve cover and plenum
I briefly looked online and did not see any info direct6ly relating to the torque spec of the cover bolts. I would guess around 15 ft lbs.--not too much--the head is aluminium--best way to go is to walk up to the service counter of the VW dealer and ask him to provide that information. You have the car and they built it!
SOURCE: timing marks for a vw 2000 jetta vr6
well learn how to time engine with no timing marks, its easy .look on end of cams for a slot or some sort of mark on the cam bearings caps .If you cant find anything then no 1
piston at the top and both valves closed with cam lobes in the air so to speak.dont forget to turn crank twice with a rachet before you evan think of trying to start engine.
SOURCE: 2000 VW jetta VR6 windshield wipers wont work
first try the fues box see if you have a blown fues, next if you put your wipers on can you hear the motor running for them? if you can the linkage has poped off from the motor, its a bit awkward to get it back on and no gaurentee that it will saty on, you might have to replace linkage, or, it might be the cogs on the actual wiper arms have splayed and are now smooth so they dont grip to move, you can take them off by the nut on the arm , get a can (coke can or simular) cut a rectangle out of it the hight and width if the cog, rap it round the cog, (make sure it does not overlap on the ends) and force the arm back into place and then do the nut up, this is just a short quick fix if that is the case you will have to replace the motor, also you can check the relay to the motor in the fues box, give it a tap a couple of times it might work again if not replace it...hope you find these sugestions helpful
