The battery is dead, just needs to be recharged. I don't have the money to take to different places to get estimate. Theres nothing wrong mechaniccaly, so I've been told. tx

you need a mobile auto electrician with a pro grade scan tool computer to see where the issue is. They with look for Diagnostic Trouble 'P' Codes and also Diagnostic 'U' Codes.
if the battery goes dead or low it must be recharged with a charger, driving the car will not recharge it properly. The alternator is only meant to maintain the battery, not recharge it. Get the battery recharged and verified and then try again.
Have your battery tested at a local Auto Parts. If your battery isnt the issue. you may also need to have your alternator also tested at a shop or auto parts store.
Sounds very much like two possibles a short in the fuse box to the non working parts or your battery went dead and was recharged and you did not reset these items. As what U mention all sound like the equipment that needs to be reset when you change a battery or it goes dead.
Hello: The battery is under the rear bottom seat cushion. Please check the cable connections for corrosion and tightness. If cable bolts are bad corroded they need to be replaced. Clean all connections with battery cleaner (Auto Zone etc) You may have to replace the battery. (while working with the battery make sure the ignition key is OFF. If above doesn't correct problem have the alternator checked, again auto zone, advance auto etc.)
To the best of my knowledge it should not need to, consulting your dealer or a call to a local Mercedes repair shop would give you the best answer. I would say co-incidence that switch went bad at same time of dead battery
Delco I have had the best results with,Please be advise about batterys dont alway go with the most cca ratings like 1000 cca ,go with something like 700 cca,you battery will last longer and your recharge time is less
Just go to a auto parts store they have books and people that can look up what engine you have to get just the right cca for your car. that battery is located up under the finder well its not that difficult to replace. You can do it. The auto parts store might even help you :)
If the battery is old, it just may be bad altogether. If so, it won't accept a charge. How are you charging it? (should be done with a battery charger NOT by driving) Make sure cable connections are clean (not just on the outside, but where they contact battery) OOPS... just noticed date on your post... likely fixed already... if not do what I said. If it goes dead again, check alternator!
