SOURCE: Where do i find the keyless entry code for a 2003

Ford cars and such will put a sticker on the hinge or back gate with the numbers on it. It will just be a white sticker with black numbers. A five digit code. Ford provides this number on a small credit-card type card, inside the Owner's Manual binder.

The 2001 Ford Windstar manual says that the 3 places where the code is located is:
1. On a card (almost business card size) in the glove compartment - my Windstar did not have it (my 1989 Ford Thunderbird had this card and still has it)
2. A sticker that is located on the computer module - this should be located underneath the dash/steering wheel on the driver's side (by the fuze box - bolted to the firewall of the car/van) - my van did not have this sticker on the module.
3. The Dealer - my dealer wants $41+tax to hook up a computer to it to scan the Van's computer

Maybe this will help. On a 95 its behind the lower center storage compartment below the radio.its held on with four plastic screws, remove the screws and remove the storage compartment.the module is bolted on with two 9mm nuts, its black and has a lot of wires running to it. if you push your door lock button you can hear and feal the relays in the module.you can undo the two 9mm bolts and pull the module out enough to read the 5 digit code or leave it bolted and use a mirror to see the backside of the module, but dont unplug anything, its not needed.enter that code and within 5 seconds hold down the 1/2 button for a couple seconds then enter the new 5 digit code within 5 seconds

Good luck.

How to fix door locks on 2002 Ford Ranger LXT pickup that lock but cant not unlock.

Does it have keyless entry ?
Power Door Locks
The central security module controls the power door lock and keyless entry system. The lock and unlock operation is carried out by supplying ground to the central security module from the door lock control switch. The normal path of the actuators is to ground through the central security module. The door lock control switch will lock and unlock all doors by grounding the appropriate circuit to the central security module. The central security module then supplies power to the appropriate common actuator circuit to lock or unlock all doors.

Keyless Entry
The keyless entry remote transmitter sends a frequency that is received by the central security module internal antenna. Depending on the frequency received, the central security module will lock all doors or unlock the driver door. If the unlock frequency is received again within five seconds of the first unlock, the central security module will unlock all doors.
If the frequency received is from the panic button, the central security module will cycle ground to the parking lamps and horn. The parking lamps and horn will continue to cycle until the panic button is pressed again or the ignition switch is turned to the RUN position.

Which fuse powers the power door locks on a 2012 equinox? None of the doors lock or unlock with the fob, battery ok

The Lock's lock from the door switches ? If they do it's not a fuse problem . Which of these does your vehicle have ?
Keyless Entry System Description and Operation (with Accessory 2 Way Remote)
Keyless Entry System Description and Operation (without Accessory 2 Way remote)

The keyless entry system is a vehicle entry device. The keyless entry system is used in conjunction with the body control module (BCM) to remotely activate certain vehicle features. Keyless entry will lock/unlock the doors/liftgate when a corresponding button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed. This is accomplished by the transmitter sending a radio frequency to the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR). The RCDLR interprets the signal and activates the requested function via a serial data message to the BCM. A low transmitter or vehicle battery or radio frequency (RF) interference from aftermarket devices, such as 2-way radios, power inverters, computers, etc., may cause a system malfunction. High RF traffic areas may also cause interference that could lead to a malfunction. Keyless entry allows you to operate the following components:
• Door locks
• Liftgate lock
• Vehicle locator/Panic alarm
• Illuminated entry lamps
• Remote vehicle start
The keyless entry system has the following components:
• Keyless entry transmitters
• Keyless entry antenna
• 2 Way Advanced Remote Start RCDLR
• BCM

Your best bet , take it to a GM dealer .

Where can I find the keyless entry code for a 2001 ford windstar

The manual says:
The keypad can be operated with the factory set 5-digit entry code; this code is located on the owner's wallet card in the glove box, is marked on the computer module, and is available from your authorized dealer. You can also create your own 5-digit personal entry code.
(someone on the internet says: A sticker that is located on the computer module - this should be located underneath the dash/steering wheel on the driver's side (by the fuze box - bolted to the firewall of the car/van)

Are you the original owner? This number can be reprogrammed, so it may not be the original number. Does the keypad work ok? Did you test to see that lights come on when each of the 5 buttons are pressed?

Key Pad Entry does not work

does the key pad light when you press a button at night? If yes, the fuse is ok.
Do you have the plastic card with the permanent code in your owner manual packet? If yes, tryit.
report back.

Keyless Entry The keyless entry keypad is hardwired to the GEM. The GEM interprets the inputs from the keyless entry keypad and then controls the associated operation. The keyless entry keypad will be illuminated for five seconds when any button is pressed. Additionally, it will request the illuminated entry feature to turn the courtesy lamps on. If a lock all doors code is entered, the illumination will turn off, as well as request the illuminated entry feature to turn off the courtesy lamps. When pressed, the keyless entry keypad supplies the ground signal to the GEM or the GEM receives a signal from the keyless entry remote transmitter. Then the GEM outputs a ground signal to the appropriate lock or unlock relay which supplies the power to the actuator to lock or unlocks all doors, including the luggage compartment. The keyless entry remote transmitter also unlocks the liftgate or activates the panic alarm by sending a signal to the GEM.

VEHICLE WONT START

Section 13-11: Anti-Theft System, Active 1998 Windstar Workshop Manual DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION Anti-Theft Alarm System NOTE: The system immediately monitors the ignition key lock cylinder upon removal of the key from the ignition. It is not necessary to arm the system for ignition key lock monitoring.

The anti-theft alarm system:
  • protects the vehicle from unauthorized entry into the passenger compartment, engine compartment and cargo area.
  • monitors the status of the ignition key lock cylinder.
  • is controlled by a remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module. The remote anti-theft personality module also controls the electronic door lock functions. Refer to Section 01-14B for more details.
  • when armed, detects unauthorized entry into the passenger compartment by using an input from the GEM module regarding the state of the door or liftgate (open or closed).
  • protects the engine compartment with a hood switch which is located on the LH cowl vent panel and is part of windshield wiper motor wiring (17A477) .
  • triggers an alarm if the ignition lock cylinder is forcibly removed from the steering column.
Once triggered, the system responds by:
  • flashing the low beam headlamps, the parklamps, rear lamps and the alarm indicator warning light emitting diode (LED).
  • sounding the horn (13832).
  • disabling the starter circuit until the system is disarmed.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Remote Anti-Theft Personality Module
  • The remote anti-theft personality module is located behind the instrument panel (04320).
  • It contains a radio receiver that receives the RF signal from the keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601) through the alarm and lock system antenna (15603) and sends the appropriate command to the power door locks, the horn relay, or the generic electronic module.
  • The remote anti-theft personality module is equipped with an internal backup power supply which holds the programmed code in memory in the event the vehicle battery is disconnected.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Remote Anti-Theft Personality Module Removal
  1. Disconnect battery ground cable (14301). Refer to Section 14-01 .
  1. Remove radio. Refer to Section 15-01 .

Components The system is composed of the following components:
  • remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module with integral antenna
  • alarm indicator LED
  • door lock cylinder switch RH, door lock cylinder switch LH
  • liftgate door lock cylinder switch (220A40)
  • hood switch (part of windshield wiper motor wiring (17A477))
  • ignition lock anti-theft switch (19A438)
The following vehicle components are also used by the anti-theft alarm system:
  • generic electronic module
  • power door lock switch (14028)
  • door open warning lamp switch (14018)
  • autolamp relay (14N089)
  • horn relay and bracket (13853) and horn (13832)
  • low beam headlamps
  • rear lamps (13404) and parking lamps (13200)
  • starter relay
  • door lock relays
  • keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601)
--------------------------------
Disarming an Untriggered System NOTE: A perimeter alarm will "shut off" after 165 seconds, but the system is still triggered and is not disarmed.

An armed but untriggered perimeter anti-theft system can be disarmed by one of the following four events:
  1. Unlock the doors by pressing the keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601) UNLOCK button once.
  2. Unlock any door with a key.
  3. Turn ignition switch to RUN or ACC.
  4. The remote entry PANIC button will disarm the anti-theft system only when the perimeter alarm is triggered and sounding.
------------------------------------------------
System Triggering NOTE: Although the remote entry PANIC alarm is not associated with the monitoring of the vehicle, the user will frequently say that the theft system was triggered when actually the keyless entry remote transmitter PANIC button was inadvertently pressed. A panic alarm will not flash the THEFT indicator.

The alarm can be triggered by the following events if the system has been armed and has not been disarmed first:
  • Open any door or liftgate.
  • Open the hood (16612) (if the hood was open when the system was armed, it must be closed before it can trigger the alarm).
  • Dislodge the ignition key lock cylinder.
  • The anti-theft system may be triggered inadvertently when the module is disconnected and then reconnected. To avoid inadvertent alarm triggering, disconnect the smaller 22-way connector first.
When the system is triggered the perimeter alarm will operate as follows: The remote anti-theft personality module will pulse the following outputs at approximately 1.3 Hz, 50 percent duty cycle for two minutes 45 seconds for North America. NOTE: Other perimeter alarms can be programmed for the system.

  • low beam headlamps
  • parking lamps
  • horn
  • THEFT indicator
The perimeter alarm can be retriggered, after a perimeter alarm has sounded for 165 seconds. After a perimeter alarm has timed out, if any trigger input is first seen as normal and is then seen in its trigger state, the perimeter alarm will be retriggered. The perimeter alarm can be triggered a total of three times between an arming sequence and a disarm event. An active panic alarm will be deactivated when a perimeter alarm is triggered (a perimeter alarm overrides a panic alarm).
