Center console lock is jammed and cant open any solutions

Buy you a service manual at auto parts store for that yr., make & model

Most consoles (if it is center arm rest type) have to be all the way down to open. Maybe device that trips it is broke, or something under console that is not letting it come all the way down.

Is your mother in laws body locked in it ?

check shift cable and linkage. may have a broken bushing

The valet button is in the center console. You can also use the manual key (the black one) in the back key holder (located in the XJ6 label on the trunk), that will overide the electrical lock and you can open manually.

quite easy in fact just grab the plastic behind the control box and pull straight up the plastic will detach easily lift it up a little bit and you can now slide your fingers behind the lid cover.

When I told you to lube it, I was assuming you were talking about the cup holder in the center, lower part of the dash, if I was correct then the proper way to open it if its working properly is the push in on it and then it should come down to expose the cup holders. To close it you lift it and push in on it to lock back in the upright position.

You were speaking of the cup holder correct?

The center console in the dodge truck locks in the up position when the brake is applied. the lock maybe stuck or if you have your foot on the brake when you are trying to lower it.

There is a child safety lock in the door jamb. Unlock the door and open it from the OUTSIDE and look for a small sliding switch somewhere along the edge of the door where the door makes contact with the body when shut.
