I bought this Jeep from a friend who tried fixing it himself. He wanted more power and bought a new injector which is obviously different from original. He said it starts but dumps to much gas at idle and won't stay running. I've switched back and forth the two different injectors and it won't start , I smell allot of gas when trying. I'm told maybe fuel pump. He could have changed dwell, I don't know. I have learned there is possibly a Dodge Neon Injector that could improve performance. If I'm stuck buying a new one I'd rather buy a upgrade. Please advise
You need to use the correct injector for your application as for the no start problem you have now pull the plugs and make sure they are clean and not flooded out from excessive fuel, also make sure the oil in the crankcase has not been contaminated with fuel
Today drained the oil and it had allot of fuel mixed throughout the oil. Tried checking compression and got a 50psi cylinder one and 80psi cylinder 2. Truth be told there is a tiny bit of air passing past compression gauge and out base of fitting. Motor sounds really bad cranking over. once you have fresh oil and filter on, and new plugs in the compression should come back up, the fuel contamination in the oil washes out the oil which helps the rings seal up, for that reason the engine will sound bad till the fresh oil gets circulated back through the engine once that is done it should crank and run smoothly again as long as you have the proper injectors in good working condition and no engine codesonce you have fresh oil and filter on, and new plugs in the compression should come back up, the fuel contamination in the oil washes out the oil which helps the rings seal up, for that reason the engine will sound bad till the fresh oil gets circulated back through the engine once that is done it should crank and run smoothly again as long as you have the proper injectors in good working condition and no engine codes

What kind of test light did you use? A noid? Is it the injector that's not working, or the computer that sends the signal? Are you getting battery power to one of the injector terminals when the key is on?
The cam sensor is located in the distributor.check the cylinder compression, check for ignition spark, check for fuel injector pulse and fuel pressure.
spark plugs are deep in the head yet you should get all the the old fuel out first, stale fuel wont ignite and will also clogg fuel filter. you need a mix of atleast 70% new fuel even then its not good for the injecters. If its a manual gearbox a tow start is a quick fix although no go for auto's. cant be much wrong if car was fine when parked, plugs-fuel-filter and possibly fuel pump for sure. If that doesnt fix take plug out put in lead and crank engine to be sure you have spark even just put any plug you know works in lead leaving your plugs in engine just to check for spark y turning over engine looking for spark on plug good spark will be blue but any spark is good.
make sure injector gets 12 volts from ASD relay. then hook a volt meter from positive side of battery to injector driver circuit, it should fluctuate while trying to start. check fuel injector, should ohm at 12-13 ohms if lower it could be shorted......if the pcm injector driver is bad, the only fix is a new computer. you really need s scanner to properly diagnose this.
I would be thinking that there is a good chance that you need to be checking out replacing the computer, if you aren't getting any communication with the proper scan tool then the computer isn't communicating with anything in the vehicle...... I would have guessed first off that the ignition control module might be bad but that is obviously part of the computer also, I would be looking in that direction.
I agree with thundergod, you need to make them do there job, when some one pays me to fix a problem I will obviously fix this problem. I am also obligated to let them know any other problems I found and ask if they want me to fix them as well. I would talk to a lawyer if you have any problems.
