I have an 04 Alero. I just changed my battery and now my service vehicle soon light came on. I went to AutoZone and they said their scanner didn't read any codes. What should I do?

Do you know how to do electrical testing ? Have a volt meter ?
Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Always On
Battery positive voltage is supplied directly to the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL). The powertrain control module (PCM) turns the MIL ON by grounding the MIL control circuit.
This step determines if the condition is with the MIL control circuit or the PCM.
Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check-Engine Controls?
YES - Go to Step 2
NO - Go to Diagnostic System Check - Engine Controls

2
  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the PCM.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Observe the MIL.
Is the MIL illuminated?
YES - Go to Step 3
NO - Go to Step 5

3

  1. Remove the instrument panel cluster (IPC). Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  2. Test the MIL control circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
YES - Go to Step 6
NO - Go to Step 4

4

Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
Did you complete the replacement?
Go to Step 6
--

5

Replace the PCM. Refer to Powertrain Control Module Replacement .
Did you complete the replacement?
Go to Step 6
--

  1. Turn the ignition OFF for 30 seconds.
  2. Start the engine.
Does the vehicle operate correctly without any MIL illumination, and without any stored DTCs?
System OK

What tools are needed to replace BCM?

Important: Perform new BCM setup when you replace Body Control Module (BCM). Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration .
Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
Remove the left instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
Disconnect the BCM electrical connectors.
Push the BCM up and move the bottom of the BCM away from and out of the mounting bracket slot in order to remove the BCM.
During Body Control Module (BCM) related service, the procedures below are designated to set-up the BCM correctly. Before you start, read these procedures carefully and completely.

Setup New Body Control Module (BCM)
Tools Required
Scan Tool (Tech 2) GM factory scan tool !
Important:
• Read this procedure carefully and completely.
• The BCM will not function properly if the Setup New BCM procedure is not performed.
• Perform the Theft Deterrent Re-learn procedure after successfully finishing the Setup New BCM procedure. If the Theft Deterrent Re-learn procedure is not performed after a BCM replacement, the following conditions may occur:
- The vehicle will not be protected against theft by the PASSLOCK system.
- The engine will not crank nor start. Your best bet is to take your vehicle to a dealer or a ASE certified repair shop who has proper tools .

Transfer case control module

unfortunately, you need a good wiring schematic. It probably is controlled from the computer. It sounds like a relay is stuck on. Some computer shops rebuild the module assembly with a full system scan and replace all related parts that can and will go bad with the module. Businesses that can provide a warranty for the work. You need to find what is giving the module a full power on or a complete ground for a completion of the circuit. You need to understand the flow of electricity and how it works into the module. It might be and outside relay stuck on in the underhood fuse panel.

This a 1999 Honda Accord. My A/C/ heater controls are not lighting up. When I turn the knob it blows, but I can not push in the a/c button. I did a little research and I found information on an A/C/Heater...

The difference is semantics. The A/C/Heater control switch is located in the A/C Heater control panel. So I guess it could be said either way - same thing. The ONLY part of the A/C/Heater Control Panel that is serviceable alone is the blower motor switch assembly. It can be removed from the back of the control panel and replaced. The rest of the control panel (including the A/C request switch) is serviced only by replacing the entire control panel.

Does the A/C request switch actually not push in? Or does it just not light up when you push it? Is the A/C working? Are either of the two fuses to the control panel blown? If so, we need to find out WHY! Does the control panel ground circuit have good continuity to the battery negative post? Is the ECM showing that it is receiving the command from the switch? I am not expecting you to have answers for all of these questions, I am simply pointing out some of the things that should be checked before replacing the control panel....So your research can be more complete. :)

Also, you may want to review these articles for a little "research project" They do not address your problem directly, but they are relevent in a general kind of way.
Where's The Fuse?

What Else Could Be Wrong?

ANYWAY, it sounds to me like some diagnosis needs to be performed before running out and spending any money on parts. Give me some more information about the exact nature of the problem and maybe I can help you figure out what to do.

Don't worry, the Toyota plastic material is very good processed and is strong but elastic. Yes after dismounting it will look like You will be scared, but step by step You will finish it good.
