Toyota 3ZZ-FE (1.6 L, VVTi, DOHC) engine. I replaced the valves and it start and move nice but now the power is low?

Question edited for a lot more clarity.
Question moved to 'make and model' for the engine.

No that is the last thing it is likely to be! It was working before, why would it fail because you changed the valves?

Did you carefully lap the new valves with grinding paste to make sure they sealed? Are they all opening a closing. Is the gap correct?

Can you do a compression test?

Increasingly persistent tapping noise coming from cam sprocket area on 2005 2.4L toyota engine. New oil, new VVTI actuator,

It could be caused by the oil control valve, it's located on the side of the cylinder head, the vvti actuator is the gear on the front of the camshaft, if it was replaced try replacing the VVTi oil control valve. It can also be caused by a worn chain tensioner.

I have a 2010 Silverado that loses oil pressure after 3000 miles on oil

Is the truck losing oil pressure or just using oil if it is only oil at 3000 miles you might want to change the pvc valve to a larger one and the dealer can help you with the size. This reduces the pressure in the engine and won't blow the oil by the rings. Hope this helps.

Why is my Audi A4 2010 petrol only doing about 300 miles before oil light comes on

2 questions.
1) Is the oil actually low on the dipstick?
If it is, you might have an oil leak, so you would need to look underneath and see. Also look for puddles when you park.
The most common reason for such consumption would be a burst oil pressure switch, or a leaking valve cover gasket.
Either of these will leak lots of oil.
The last possible reasons, which are really rare, would be engine parts defective,( like oil rings), or a leak in the brake booster which would suck oil from the crankcase into the brake booster.
2) If the oil is not leaking out, and the dipstick shows full, you will be needing a new oil pressure switch, or to have the electronics repaired.
God bless your efforts.

P1354

I found this on a google search i hope it will help you as the engine is the same QUESTION: , 2001 Avalon 145,000 miles. Recently developed rough idle when warm. Today produced codes of P1150, P1354. It points to the VVT system. Can a DIY diagnose and repair from home?

Thanks,
John

ANSWER: The P1354 code is for the VVTi malfunction on bank2 which is the cylinder head near the firewall, the 1150 code is for the air.fuel ratio sensor on the same head, the VVTi code can cause the A/F ratio sensor to go out of range, the main cause is the P1354 code which should be delt with first, this can be caused by a worn timing belt that has junped a tooth on the sprocket, this should be checked first, at this mileage if it has never been replaced it may be the problem. If your scanner can read live data see where the engine timing is at.
If the timing is not the problem it may be a bad oil control valve for the VVTi system, to be sure it should be active tested using a diagnostic tool that is capable of doing so, activating the system at idle should cause the engine run rough at idle, if there is no effect on the engine the VVTi is not activated and the problem may be the OCV.

Tappet settings for 1.8 2010 insignia

opel engine 1.8 they are automatic hydraulic self adjusting ,so no adjustment but if you are rebuilding the engine use a big vice and short bolt to push the piston thingy back in and squeeze the oil out of them then just put them back in in any order and they will adjust themselves when engine is started and run for a little while .Nothing could be more simple and dont forget then when refilling with new oil after a rebuild use a cheap petrol/diesel engine oil and change every 5000 miles with a oil filter every third oil change ,do not use expensive oil as it will damage the engine as you think it will last 20000miles and all it does is gum up ,change oil often and no problem
