OK. So you lost your key. People do that all the time. That's what spare keys are for. But you apparently don't have a spare. So you tore into the ignition to try to get the vehicle to start. Now you are realizing that the vehicle has safeguards to prevent just that from happening (we call what you tried to do "hot wiring"). The reason that the car is designed that way is to prevent theft and therefore reduce insurance costs. Money saved in order to have a spare key.

So you made some stup1d mistakes.

  1. You lost your key.
  2. You didn't have a spare key.
  3. You destroyed your vehicles ignition system
And now you want help. Unfortunately, you can't fix stup1d.
Call the dealer, get it towed, have it repaired, get a new key AND a spare. And after you spend that $1000.00, consider it a lesson learned.

I,ve lost my keys for my 98 ford escort wagon the manual says its key coded and i don't have a master key what are my options

I assume that you have already checked inside the owners manual package for the code, or a key tag.

A Ford Dealership should be able to help you. They will want specific information about the car and you will have to provide proof of ownership of the car.

This will probably cost $300-$400. Making a spare key before you lose them is always much cheaper.

CAN I PROGRAM THE KEY ON MY 98 FORD EXPLORER WITHOUT TAKING IT TO THE DEALER. tHE KEY WAS LOST SO I REPLACED THE IGNITION. nOW IT WONT RUN

Unfortunatley, most dealers keep a pretty tight lid on reprogramming the key fobs. You may find someone that had the software to do it, but chances are you will have to take your key in to have it flashed

Ran out of gas but I have put half of tank in now and my 98 ford explored 4.0 6 cylinder won't start does anybody have any suggestions? Plz help...

The fuel pump may have gotten hot and stuck. Try hitting the gas tank with a rubber hammer or a wooden bat with the key on. DON'T USE METAL ON METAL. You should hear it hum for 2-3 seconds if it's working. (have someone turn the key to the on position while you are near the tank) If you can hear the pump humming, and it still won't start you will need to change the fuel filter.

If the noise is coming from the rear with rear A/C it sounds like you have a mode door actuator bad, same if noise is coming from front in dash. Have seen this before. In the rear you will have to remove pass. rear cargo area side panel, you have 2 actuators back there just feel which one is making noise, one on top is mode door and one on side of A/C case is temp. door. Hope this helps.

I am sorry you can no longer access the code unless the dealer who sold it still has the original paperwork, sorry about that.

Lost the only key I had for vehicle

Is the car locked? If not remove the glove box lock or a door lock and take it to a locksmith to make a key for you.

My 89 isuzu trooper will start and run great as long as i keep the key all the way engaged 4 or 5 secs after i release it will die can you help

This is most likely a faulty ignition switch, when you release the key and it cuts the engine this is a lost live feed to the coil if petrol or stop soenoid if diesel
check ignion switch for a live feed to the coil/stop solenoid when cranking
