My radio will not turn off when the door is opened like it is suppose to?
The dash lights are also on with the radio. I can open and close the door several times and final get them to go off. The truck batteries also drain if the truck is not started and driver enough to charge up ever 4 to 6 days.
Re: My radio will not turn off when the door is opened...
It's part of the RAP (Retained Accessory Power) circuit. Yours may be actuated by a pin switch on the hinge side of the door jamb or inside the door as actuated by the door handle linkage.

There should be a button inside the door arch, on the hinged side, that activates the interior lights when the door is opened, this button also turns the light off when the door is closed.
Find this button and push / activate it manually with your hand.
If the light is not turning on and off, check that the switch on the interior dome light is in the "DOOR" position, not the OFF or ON position. this is usually the middle position.
Check all the Auto door light buttons on all doors, you may find one that is loose (not springing back into position) this will need replacing as it could be the cause of the interiour light on working automaticly.
I hope some of this helps
There are a few possibilities. First, the Dome light usually has 3 settings on its own switch located in the Dome light case. One position is full OFF, another position is by Door opening, and the final position is FULL ON. If these settings do not help, then you must have a bad doorjam switch or a grounded wire. When the door switch is pushed in by the closing of the door, the plunger in the stem of the door switch is suppose to separate the wires. If the switch is cracked within the door frame opening, the wires may not separate and break the connection. You would need to remove the doorjam switch and BEFORE you removed the wires tape something to the wires to prevent losing the wiring loom in the frame of the body. Another potential reason for the Dome light staying ON is the headlight switch. Turning the light switch beyond the full dash brightness limit will MANUALLY turn on the Dome light. Check to see if the light switch is turned too far.
Do courtesy lights come on and go off when you open and then close the drivers door?
if courtesy lights work as expected then the BCM is communicating properly with the door control module, i.e. it knows the door was opened and closed, so likely the problem is between the the BCM and the radio (low speed comm bus) or the radio itself.
A scanner capable of presenting the BCM, door control module, and radio states will likely be required to determine the fault location.
Sounds like the wires inside the harness between the door jam are broken from cracking in the cold and opening and closing the door. push the rubber boot back or cut it off if you like and inspect the wires.
possible bcm you have a on board computer that tells you when doors are open lights are on also after turning key off you can listen to radio or open close windows for a limit of time then the bcm cuts off the power to everything if you are not sure check with dealer if they have problems with bcms body control module
If I am not mistaken, the plunger is located in the door with the latch. Most of the time you can just pull the door panel off and adjust the switch. After opening and closing the door, they get knocked out of adjustment. I sincerely hope that this helped you. Take care and best wishes.

Sounds like the switch in the door, that tells the car the door is closed, is not working or broken. It may be inside the door or on the door frame. It looks like a button or a slide button that when the door closes, it's supposed to close on this button and shut off the interior lights and turn off the dash light. The doors probably won't lock because it thinks the door is open with the keys in the ignition. Electrical systems are never cheap to fix and they can cost a lot of time just to figure out exactly what's wrong and where. I hope this helps.
