I've seen it happen many times on the older Caravans, if you hit a really deep puddle, the splash can knock the accessory drive belt off of its pulleys. You can just gently pry the belt back on, consult a service manual for detailed installation directions.
Normally a low gear box oil lvl when the car moves what oil there is goes around the transmition when you idle it all goes to the bottom making it judder
If the valve lifters are quiet you most likely have oil pressure even with gauge showing "0".Sounds like the oil pressure switch going bad.I would try that first.
something is strange here thats for sure ,firstly take thermostat out and put it in a saucepan of water and boil it to see if opens .,check the oil light switch and pull the rubber boot cover back to see if any oil is behind it ??.-You are buying trouble with a car with such a high mileage on it ,never buy anything with more than 50,000 miles or you are just buying someones rubbish
I would stop driving it right away and test the oil pressure with a gauge. If at an idle when its cool you don't hit 30-40 psi....change the oil pump. The knocking is probably your main bearings. While your installing a new oil pump, put new mains in.
