To the best of my knowledge and experience the front struts of the Honda Accord are not adjustable unless the option was fitted or retro-fitted, when adjustment would be electrical, or aftermarket adjustable shockers have been fitted.

SOURCE: Hood struts

there is a little c-shaped clip on the top and bottom sockets of the strut where they attach on the hood and fender , support the hood with a stick, and pry these two clips back while pulling the strut off the ball studs, you do not need to remove the clips all they way, then the new ones just push on to the ball studs, good luck and please rate -jeff

SOURCE: JUST GOT 99 HONDA AACORD, NOTICE OIL LEAK, ON FORNT CAR PASSANGER

Wash the engine if need be to find the source of the leak.  It could be the oil fill cap, the valve cover gasket, the oil filter seal or a dozen other places.

SOURCE: replacing front struts

Okay....here is the steps first....and then the directions on how to use the tools:

  1. Raise and properly support the vehicle.
  2. Remove the front wheel.
  3. Detach the shock absorber lower mount by removing the two bolts.
  4. Remove the retainer nut, retainer, cushion and shock absorber.
  5. Detach the cushion retainer from the shock absorber.
  6. Compress the coil spring with a commercially available spring compressor.
  7. Detach the stabilizer bar.
  8. Support the upper suspension arm and steering knuckle securely.
  9. Remove the cotter pin.
  10. Loosen and remove the nut.
  11. Using a ball joint removal tool, detach the lower ball joint from the lower control arm.
  12. Loosen the suspension arm set bolt.
  13. Remove the suspension arm set bolt nut.
  14. Remove the nut from the strut bar front set bolt.
  15. Pull out both set bolts.
  16. Remove the lower suspension arm and coil spring. To install:
  17. Installation is the reverse of removal. Note the following torque specifications:
    1. Strut bar front set bolt: 221 ft. lbs. (300 Nm)
    2. Lower suspension arm set bolt: 148 ft. lbs. (200 Nm)
    3. Lower ball joint nut: 80 ft. lbs. (110 Nm)
    4. Lug nuts: 83 ft. lbs. (110 Nm).

What brand of struts should I purchase to replace my OEM struts on my Honda accord 2007 that are worn? Should I replace all 4 or just two? Will I need an alignment following a strut replacement?

I would replace the ones you know are tired (most likely the fronts) unless you have been using your Accord for towing or it gets loaded up with cargo on a regular basis. KYB is a recognised brand name and vehicle manufacturers use them as their standard OEM parts supplier. If you are buying only the strut inserts and not the whole assembly, you may want to consider replacing the strut top mounts as well as the bearings in them can wear out over time and collapse. You technically "shouldn't" need a wheel alignment afterwards but it would be advisable.

Yes. The spring is attached to the strut and is under pressure.

The struts need to be replaced on my 93 accord. What all parts do I need?

Well, you need replacement struts, but you knew that...You need jack, jack stands (must have), wrenches to remove the bolts, and a spring compressor to remove the springs from the old struts and put on the new struts.
Also have upper bearings on hand, for the front struts. These allow pivot on some designs.

How to cange front shocks.?

Raise and support the car safely and remove the front wheels. Undo the clip holding the brake line to the strut. Loosen the bolts holding the strut to the steering knuckle. Before removing them, remove the strut mount tower bolts under the hood. Then remove the other bolts, the entire strut assembly will slide out. You can either install a complete new strut and spring assembly (more expensive), or you can use a coil spring compressor to remove the spring from the old strut and install it on a new strut (less expensive but a lot more work, and you must have access to a spring compressor). Make sure when installing the spring that it is aligned correctly on the new strut. Also, you should replace the strut mounts with new ones. Be aware that a compressed spring is very dangerous, so be sure to follow the instructions for the spring compressor. Re-install the strut assembly. Make sure that the knuckle bolts and strut mount bolts are torqued to spec.
