2005 Chrysler Town and Country 3.3. I have P0513 code and the red dot anti-theft light is flashing.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

Disconnecting the battery is never a good idea as it breaks the code paring between the key, the BCM / ECM and Immobilizer Module. Always charge a car battery in the car without removing it. Even a dead battery has enough volts to keep the ECM / BCM programming alive. Have all the keys done at the same time. If you only have one key, have another chip key cut and programmed. You don't mention a second key, and we get so many people here who lose their only key and ask how to bypass and hot-wire. The answer to that is "you can't".

What does code P0513 mean? The OBD-II code P0513 stands for 'incorrect immobilizer key. ' The code activates when the PCM fails to recognize the immobilizer key (ignition key) despite detecting its presence.

DOES P0513 CODE CAUSE ENGINGE LIGHT TO COME ON?

Yes of course. All P Codes make the Engine Malfunction Light come on.

Error Code P0513 means the PCM (powertrain control module, also known as ECM or engine control module in other vehicle makes) has detected the presence of the immobilizer key (better known as ignition key) but fails to recognize it. If the ignition cylinder is turned on, the engine is cranked (but not yet started).

After a diagnostic check at advance auto parts the codes P0404 and P0513 registered.

The P0513 is a bad immobilizer code, which is part of the security system. Apparently a bad code can cause the engine to run rough, which could be causing the other code. P0404 is an EGR code.

Chrysler sebring code p0513

P0513 stands for invalid SKIM Key. Basically it means that the "computer chip" that is in your ignition key which has a special code is not recognized by your vehcile compter (PCM). In most cases that I have come across is that either your VIN is not entered or is the incorrect VIN programmed into the PCM. Have you recently changed the PCM ? You may try another ignition key but I doubt that would work unless you are using the wrong key for the vehicle. You will need special diagnostic computer programs in order to correct this problem. Most likely your PCM will need to be "Flashed" to the VIN. This really isn't a weekend/backyard/part time mechanic fix. Hope this helps you to understand what the code is and what it means. Guessing the vehicle won't start.....

Chrysler Concorde LXI 4 door - 2004 The car starts up and seconds after, the RPM drops and the car shuts off. The code P0513 comes up on the computer.

That is a code for an invalid skim key. If you have another skim key try it. If it does the same thing then the skim module may be bad.
