You need to fix the coolant leak, then refill and bleed cooling system, then you will get heat and cure overheating problem too

SOURCE: 2008 saturn Aura coolant leak

I bought a 2008 aura with 32k miles on it in 2013.. from a Honda dealer. the car looks new thought I was getting a great deal. Well I now think the former owner dumped it because of the over heating issue. looking for the problem I notice the radiator and reservoir have been replaced. I had the thermostat replaced and it was fine for the short drives my wife makes. I drove it to work this week (200 mile round trip) going up steep grades and it over heated. got to work and added a gallon + of antifreeze and kept letting air out of the reservoir as it circulated. I noticed a puddle of water from the tail pipe. Now I pretty sure it's the head gaskets although there is no water in the oil but the change oil soon is laminated. could mean the antifreeze contaminated the oil but the water portion has burned off with the excessive heat. what ever the case it is obvious to me considering the other post and other sites such as saturnlanda, the consumer is screwed do to a defect that GM is going to ignore.. I will probably resurface the heads and see what happens... It's not the radiator or the reservoir I can insure you of that!. but a slow leak into the exhaust manifold that's why you smell the antifreeze burn off and when the fluid level becomes low the heater is cold because the thermostat has no water to sense the water temp to open to flow to the heater core and the engine block. I now wonder as I am posting this if you were to add stop leak into the radiator if it would temporarily fix the problem.. maybe that's what they been doing under warranty.. No that me being paranoid, right!

I got no heat in my saturn aura when i stop put i got heat wen i drive

Check your coolant leveling your radiator it is probable low. When driving the water pump spins faster to circulate the coolant through the motor to make the heater hot. if the coolant is full then there is a flow problem like bad thermostat to blocked radiator

I have 07 saturn aura and it starting to run hot and the heater dont blow hot!! i changed the thermostat and it still is ruunig hot.. what is wrong?

How hot does the engine get in degrees F? Does the radiator fan work? You may need to check coolant flow through the radiator and heater code? With a warmed up engine, are the heater hoses hot? If the blower motor works ok, just not warm, check temp actuator, probably under the dash.
Any applicable trouble codes?

Heat delayed

heat not blowing or not getting hot? if it's not blowing it may be the blower motor going out but if its just taking a while to get hot it could be the duct exchanger which could be a vaccume leak or you could be low on engine coolant, if the engine coolant is low the heater core doesn't get enough coolant to warm the air that passes thru it.

2007 saturn aura is overheating. I have added coolant and replaced thermostat, still overheating

Your only missing the fact that you need to continue to
diagnose the problem

The veh isn't that old first off

Before you suspect a head gasket or worse case senerio,
you shoulod us the Combustion Leak Test Tool that goes
over the radiator cap
If the blue fluid turns yellow you have combustion gases
mixing with the coolant

An Temp Gun will tell you were things are the hotest, maybe

So when & how quickly it heat up & any loss of coolant
overnight when it cools off?

Have more things to try ,but not a good outlook

Runs hot and hearter not blowing hot air

a heater uses the temperature of the cars water, running threw a heat exchanger if the heater core has failed water will not circulate threw the engine properly this will and can cause over heating as well as nothing blowing from the heater. good luck.heater cores are generally inexpensive parts to replace.

last thing you can check if heater core is ok. is the thermostat.

Frequently loss the coolant and temperature increase. Heater blow cool air instead hot air

You are losing coolant if you have a coolant pressure tester follow the directions and use it. If you don't when the car is cool use a 50/50 solutuion of water and coolant fill system and check all the listed items carefully with a flash light and look for leaks. It is either a bad hose, cap, water pump or radiator. Your coolant circulates through the dash and the blower blows throught the heater core to produce heat. No coolant no heat. I would also check the passanger side floor for anti freeze or moisture could be a leaking heater core also.
