Where is the coolant pumb in ford escape 2012?

I have a 2012 Escape with the 4cyl engine.
The water (coolant) pump is located on the front of the engine.
This would be on the passenger side of the car. Towards the front, on the passenger side, the top pulley is an idler, the next one down is the water pump.
And yes, the lower radiator hose does attach to the engine right behind the water pump.
The 6cyl Escape may be different.

1997 cavalier 2.2 auto, coolant leaking a steady stream, it's running to the left of the main hose that goes into the engine on the top. Is there a gasket on the block other than the head gasket??

Are you referring to the top radiator hose that goes into the thermostat housing? If so then yes you have an o-ring seal on the bottom of the thermostat housing.

I have a 99 windstar that has eng. codes P 0171 & P 0174 ? thanks Glenn

These typically have leaky intake manifold gaskets. First check for any loose vacuum lines. There are a few attached to the back of the upper manifold. These can also set those lean codes. If you can't find a broken or loose hose, try spraying some carb cleaner at the intake manifold gaskets. if the engine revs at all when you do this, you have leaky gaskets. Let me know if you have any questions or need instructions.

Where is the thermostat located on a 98 dodge intrepid 3.2 ltr

Not familiar with this car specifically, but for most cars. . .

If you remove the upper radiator hose (drain the coolant first), where the hose attaches to the engine, that fitting is held to the engine block with two or three bolts. It may also have a small bypass hose attached to it, remove that also. The thermostat is between the engine block and this housing.

Remove the housing, and scrape off any of the old gasket. There is usually a small groove in either the housing or the engine block, the thermostat fits into that groove and the gasket goes on the other side of it. Make sure you put the thermostat in the same direction as the old one, the "pointy" end goes toward the hose.

Where is the thermostat

In nearly every vehicle I have ever seen, the Thermostat is located on the top of the Engine attached to the Upper Radiator hose. Find the radiator and look for the upper hose and attached to it (going into the engine block) is a small metal housing, normally attached by two or more screws. Remove that metal housing and the Thermostat is located there. Some things to remember. You are going to have to drain the coolant out of the system first and use plenty of sealant on the new gasket.

1997 cadillac deville engine is overheating. can your ''thermagasket kit'', be used on 4.6L northstar 32 valve V8 engine. If so, approximately how long will the treatment last and how much does it cost?

When you say thermagasket kit,I assume you mean one of those silly DIY gasket sealant liquids that you put in the engine.

You should not use these type of products on ANY engine let alone the Northstar.

To cure a headgasket leak, replace the headgasket.....there is no miracle cure.

On the Northstar, you will damage the cooling system, plus you will continue to have issues as time goes on.

How do you know you have a blown head gasket?

Here is something to consider.......

The most common overheating problem with the Northstar engine is a blocked purge line(small hose). The purge line is designed to purge air out of the cooling system.
There is a small diameter hose coming from near the top of the coolant tank (not the cap) ,this is the purge line.
With the engine idling, pull the purge line from the tank,if there is no coolant flow from this small hose,it is blocked and this will cause overheating.
If the hose is clear, check for blockage at the nipple on the tank.Or trace the hose back until you find the blockage.
The hose goes in to the engine to a crossover and comes out the other side close to the thermostat housing, the blockage may be there.

Is there any kind of sealer to add to the engine that well stop overheating

The most common overheating problem with the Northstar engine is a blocked purge line. It's job is to purge air out of the cooling system.

With the engine idling, pull the purge line from the tank,if there is no coolant flow from this small hose,it is blocked and this will cause overheating. If the hose is clear, check for blockage at the nipple on the tank.Or trace the hose back until you find the blockage. The hose goes in to the engine to a crossover and comes out the other side to near the thermostat housing, the blockage may be there.
If you do have a blown head gasket,... sealant will not cure it.Do not believe the exaggerated claims of "head gasket sealant" manufacturers.

Where the thermostat is located on a 1993 maxima

Usually in any vehicle the thermostat is underneath the fitting either on the engine manifold or the block that is attached to the TOP radiator hose. 1 clamp, 2 to 3 attaching bolts for the fitting, a gasket and the thermostat. Just make sure to clean the mating surfaces well and install an new gasket with the thermostat.

applies most any automotive engine......

Coolant leak

Hello **** B. First double check the hose connection for the leak, it can drain to another connection & appear to leak there. Second, yes there is a gasket on the pipe connection to the block. To replace the gasket, park the car in a location for least 5 to 6 hours to cool down mabe longer. Have the gasket replacement, a tube of gasket sealant, 2 gallons of antifreeze, a drain bucket, and a very large rag or rags. Remove the hose, catch the fluid in bucket, remove the pipe, clean the old gasket area, apply gasket sealent, attache gasket, mount the pipe, tighten all mounting bolts a 1/2 to 3/4 turn each until torqued downed evenly, and attache hose. Fill reservoir, with radiator cap off, start engine and add coolant to radiator until full and you see fluid flowing. Apply cap & check for leaks. Easy???????? Good Luck.
