The only way I ever got them out is with a large drill bit. Then replaced the lock cylinder.

How to remove key from 2000 jimmy ignition

Is it broken off in the ignition switch? If so, you will need a locksmithing key extract tool. It is a small strip of metal with teeth in it. You try and hook the broken key and gently pull it out.
Good luck as these are tough to do if you haven't done on before.

Key is broken off in the ignition switch

You'll have to take the whole ignition piece out in order to remove the broken key. I apparently jammed a bunch paper clips in my parents van when i was a kid and they had to take it to some place to get the whole thing removed.
