Does the engine reach normal operating temp, over 200 degrees F? Are the heater hoses hot? It could be a temp control actuator, under the dash?
I'd have to do some testing to find the problem. Have you done any testing?
You ever check the thermostat?
It probably low on coolant. The heater will blow cold when there is not enough water (coolant) to keep the heater core full. Check the radiator (not the overflow reservoir) when it's cool.
You say you had it checked, did the shop say everything was fine ? Usually the climate control will not go below 60 degrees. You check the performance by using a thermometer in the vent. Inside air temp coming out the vent should be at least 20 degrees less than outside air temp.
Assuming the radiator is full of coolant, and the engine is reaching normal temp of 190 degrees, you could have a blocked heater core or the temp control valve may not be working on the heater hose. I would check to see if both heater hoses are getting hot.
The computer is supposed to ground the fan relay when the engine temp reaches 220 degrees. If the coolant level is low, or the sensor is faulty, the computer will not know the engine needs the fan. A mechanic would check the sensor with a scanner or meter. Its also possible the gauge on the dash is not accurate.
if you put a 160 degree thermostat in it or lower it will not get hot you need at least a 190 a low temp thermostat is only good in the summer i bet that will solve your problem
if your vehicle has the electronic climate control, it is probably the blend door motor/actuator that has failed and is stuck at the temp that was last entered in the climate control unit when it failed. this can be a very time consuming repair to do as it is under the dash. the other possibility is your coolant level is low and not allowing the heater core to bring the outside air up to the temp you want. if that is the case,your low coolant temp sensor should have come on. if not, then the thermostat could be either stuck open or closed. if stuck open the engine would not always show the temp gauge at normal operating temp of 195-200 degrees. if stuck closed the engine should be overheating according to the temp gauge. you did not mention what the operating coolant temp was!
Alot of the new fords have small radiator leaks. If the truck is low on coolant or running above 190 degrees the heater wont work. Top off coolant and put in some radiator stop leak. heater should start working now that the engine will run cooler
