1997. Idle seems a bit high. How can I adjust it? I'm getting awesomely high mileage both city and highway but i think it could improve still more and the idling speed feels too high.

What is your review of the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross?

  • Pros: Best value for money in its segment, spacious , excellent leg room for rear seats, reasonably well ground clearance, good mileage, interiors and features one of the best in class, superior build quality, Cheaper by around 2 L when compared to creta or duster...
  • Cons: Initial pick up less in city.
2017 Maruti S-cross is very good SUV or properly a crossover, black interiors looks excellent, in city feels little lethargic below 1500 rpm but on highway its fun to drive , can easily reach 140 kmph, mileage expect around 14 to15 kmpl in city and around 17 to18 kmpl , suspension bit hard probably for better highway ride, overall good car better than sedans like city or ciaz as you get feel of SUV with good ground clearance to tackle various Indian road conditons and high sitting position is awesome to drive

Rough idle sometrimes and high mileage what trouble shooting for a timing chain

That vehicle should have a timing belt that should be changed ever 100000Km if it hase not been replaced now would be a good time to do so but i dont think its the cause of the problem. First replace all the filters and plugs and make sure the plugs you use have the right heat range. If still no improvment check the HT leads resistance. If that is all ok get the injectors serviced.

How to improve 2011 hundai mileage

Driving habits are the main reason for bad mileage including: excessive idling, fast starts and stops, fast driving in general...best speeds are 50 to 60 MPH for economy, city driving uses most gas,
Mechanical problems include underinflated tires, leaving windows open at highway speeds, not keeping engine tuned up, not changing lubricants at proper intervals, not greasing wheel bearings, not aligning and balancing tires..etc

I have a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 and it gets 200 miles per tank and will not kick down on highway or around town. WHat could be causing this problem?

Well first, is the overdrive on or are you in the overdrive gear, also sorry to tell you but these v-8 jeeps get real bad gas mileage, i think highway mileage is 18 and city 14,if you were getting better mileage and the trany is actting up then that will cause the lower mileage, good day.

98 dodge caravan uses lots of gas

You do not say what mileage you are getting. Your vehicle will get from 12-17 MPG in the city and 17-24 Highway depending on many factors. Your vehicle is 11 years old and if it has near 100,000 miles I suggest you replace the spark plugs and plug wires. Keep the tires inflated to the pressure listed in your owner's manual and on the driver's door post. Replace the air filter every 30,000 miles. Drive the speed limit, and take off slowly. If you are getting near the maximum of 17 city & 24 highway, then there is not much you can do to improve mileage. So, exactly what mileage are you getting?

How do i fix low gas mileage. the manual says 11 km city and almost 18 km highway driving. however i only get 5 km city and almost 10 km highway

First, high mileage, older car - loss of mpg.
Second, have you heard of keeping your car in good running shape - meaning doing the maintenance an a regular basis?
Change the oil on time, change the air filter, make sure every thing is working right, make sure the tires are wearing right.
All this contributes to good mpg - but older high milage - loss of mpg.
Can't fix that!

Ihave a C2500/ext cab long bed,GVR8600LBS w/7.4 vortec 4L80E and 4.10 gears.Iget 9 MPG Iwould like to get better gas mileage and more performance.[where do i start].

I have the same engine. I installed a banks powerpack on it and now I get about 14 on the highway and about 11 city. First thing is a tune up, plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, and that sorta stuff. I gutted my intake to let the engine breath better. The banks system opened up the exhaust quite a bit and it has alot more power and get better mileage. A chip can add some fuel economy as well. Any more than simple stuff like that, you'll start getting into serious money. My banks powerpack was $1800 and got me about 2mpg city and about 3 mpg highway improvement. Not much better on fuel but it did get alot more power which means I can be lighter on the gas pedal.

2008 Toyota Highlander Sport AWD when starting off the engine seems to rev fairly high for very small vehicle movement. At idle engine revs around 1000RPM. Gas mileage is poor,17MPG for about 80% city, 20%...

yes it is normal many customers complain about how the newer cars are not as responsive from a stop basically you have to hit the gas then the car goes seems to rev high to people with not a lot of movement becausse of this its because the newer cars are throttle by wire when you hit the gas it sends a electrical signal to the throttle to go instead of a few yyears back they were you hit the gas and the cable attached to gas pedal pulls back throtttle much more responsive hope this helps

CRV 2007 Fuel Mileage Indicator

It's probably like the old manual fuel gauge needle where it would take longer to get from 'F' to midway than from midway to 'E'. We all know that according to the gauge the last bit of gas goes faster. I think the digital readout is doing the same thing. I don't know why though.
