There is a knocking noise coming from the my daughters car. We replaced the radiator on Saturday last week & right after the car started producing lots of white/grey smoke.. Thank you
SOURCE: Head gasket?
You remove air filter and other parts.
Then you remove head cover.
Then you unscrew and remove the head,
Clean a bit the block
Replace gasket.
Screw back the head
Follow head tourqe settings and screw orders on diagrams when mounting back the head.
The whole thing is not thst easy as it may seem, if you want to DIY you will need to buy the Haynes manual for your car. There you find a step by step procedure with pictures.
Here is a repair manual.
Also enquiry to Haynes.Haynes manuals are the best.
Here is how to replace head gasket on a Honda, with lots of pics, procedure is the same, torque values and screwing order are different. It is not a job for absolute beginners
Do not forget to rate the solution
Thanks.
SOURCE: Cannot find the carburettor - where is it please?
if it's a 2001 model it is fuel injected which means it doesn't have a carby. the white grey smoke is burning oil which means you might want to keep an eye on you're oil level but the strong smell of fuel and lack of acceleration could be caused by a fuel leak somewhere
SOURCE: I got white smoke, changed
Not on a Gas engine, but diesel engine yes.
Diesel engine white smoke means leaking head, intake, or your turbo is not working.
Gas engine leaking intake would only cause rough idle, no power, etc,,,,
SOURCE: My 1998 Daewoo Leganza
its worn out and needs an engine rebuild ,what happens with these cars is that without regular oil changes the inside of the engine builds up with a lot of carbon black gunk this then breaksa down when it does get a oil change and then blocks the oil pick up pipe filter ,Causing oil starvation which is what you have had happen ands so the big ends are now noisey and the tappets with worn piston rings .New engine
