Brother I have the same car. Go trade it in ASAP! The reason your car is doing this, is because there is oil leaking in the spark plug holes from the valve gasket covers. You will not see any oil on the ground and if you ask a regular tech they will say they do not see a problem either. After spending thousands and reading other forums I narrowed down the problem. When the oil works its way down into the sparkplug holes it causes your car to misfire, idle rough, and sometimes die out. There is no way for the oil to escape so it ends up fouling out the plug and ruining the ignition coil which are $85 a piece and there is 8 of them on the V8 engine and 6 on the V6. Also known problems are noisy clunking in the front end. Ball joints go bad and can only be replaced by purchasing the whole control arm. Take the car to a Lincoln dealer and let them tell you what I just told you. Then get the hell out of there because they will screw you with no vaseline. Take it to someone you trust. Happy New Year! 2009

Smoke coming out from the middle of the two rear tires right? Sound like your rear differential is out of lubricant. Leftover lubricant is probably getting burned by heat from the friction. Have your rear differential lubed up.

It sounds like the rings are washed out for some reason. any chance you filled up at a gas station with water in there gas ? if it was me I would do a compression test and see if it is low , and it sounds like it might be then leave the plugs out and put oil in each cly turn engine over a few times and let sit over night or at least serveral hours , this will free the rings up , fuel and miss fires will wash the rings out and running will get you white smoke , after oil has set in cyl now you have to clean it out if you have qa air compressor you can shoot air into each keeping a rag over so you dont make a mess, and you can keeping one end in hand send a rag down to soak it up, you will most likely have to pull the plugs out and clean them with break clean a few times till the engine will stay running once it stays running it will smoke until the oil is gone but the compression should be back to normal and cleared up it might smoke for over an hour once you get it running you can hold throttle to 2000 rpm as well this helps a bunch. but find out where compression should be and check it . I think some how either the missfire or bad gas. did you replace any coils or coil pack ? is the miss fire gone?

check for a fuel leak, some will leak along the side of the car A fuel leak. in the high pressure side also known as the feed line will cause it to crank over longer before it starts the car .. If the car is running check under the car 9 times out of 10 you will see fuel dripping from the area of the leak Its not too often you will find it if its not running...good luck
