I had the sme thing with mine it worked when I got it then eventually would not turn on again then I found out possibly the cable was sliced and took me to droping my drive shaft while fully loaded or overloaded and changing out my rusted out rear axle and differntial to finally remove the column and what did you know it was the wire ws broken. all i did was splice it and reconnected the wires then magic it works 'til this day.

2011 Ford F-150 5.0 liter 4x4 is stuck in tow/haul but the button does not work or light up. Can anyone help?

One possible cause is a faulty wiring harness in the shifter that wears out and causes a short circuit1. This can be checked by inspecting the wires under the steering column and looking for any signs of damage or corrosion. If this is the case, you may need to replace the wiring harness or repair the wires.
Another possible cause is a bad solenoid switch inside the transmission1. This is a more serious problem that requires opening the transmission and replacing the solenoid. This can be a costly and complicated repair, so you may want to consult a professional mechanic before attempting it.
A third possible cause is a low or weak battery2. Sometimes, the electrical system can act up when the battery is not providing enough power. This can be tested by checking the battery voltage with a multimeter or a battery tester. If the battery is low, you may need to recharge it or replace it with a new one.
A fourth possible cause is a glitch in the electronic system34. Sometimes, the tow/haul mode can get stuck due to a software error or a sensor malfunction. This can be fixed by resetting the system by disconnecting the negative battery cable and waiting for an hour, then reconnecting it. This should clear any codes and restore the normal function of the tow/haul mode

Driving lights do not work have power at switch but lights dose not come on. I have checked the bulbs they are ok so are all the fuses that Ican find

Having power at the switch means little - the big question is the power reaching the lights?

That of course refers to the original pre-digital circuitry. Later vehicles have different circuitry - often permanently supplied with power and switched on by being grounded by a black box. In this case the headlamp switch merely provides the command for the black box to switch on the lights and has no direct connection to the lights.

Please check for codes in the OBD system. Check Battery and Charging System. If no codes perform following test procedure.
Tests/Procedures: 1. Check the Black power connector in the under dash fuse box. Wiggle it with the lights on and see if they malfunction.

2. Wiggle the wiring harness from the ignition switch around the steering column with the lights on and see if they malfunction.

3. Monitor the key on battery voltage from the ignition switch at terminal 3, Red wire at the ignition switch to terminal 3 of connector I/P-E in the under dash fuse box.

4. See if the vehicle has any aftermarket accessories installed that may be tapped into that Red wire from the ignition switch to the fuse box.

2005 mercury mountaineer where is my power window dues box

dues box ? do you mean fuse box . There are fuses for the power windows in the under hood fuse / relay box ! F1.62 30amp fuse an there is a relay in the CJB - central junction block ,located under the driver side dash panel . Accessory delay relay , first one top left in the fuse box. That's a good place to start ! what if fuse an relay are good ? then what ? do you know how to use a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter ? Do any of your windows work ? The best place to start is the drivers door window switch ! All power to all windows come through that switch .The lite blue with black stripe wire is power wire at the switch !

My 2007 ,5.7L,Ram 1500 truck shuts down when upshifting, however if I put the transmission in the O/D switch off it does not. If the transmission is in normal or tow/haul mode the enginu suts down. A...

Your ASD should be powered by a fuse located under the hood in the power distribution center. I would check that fuse, then replace the actual relay as that is the cheapest easiest possible solutions. If the problem persist then that indicates that there is a problem causeing the computer to shut down the engine, seeing that it is linked to your transmission it could be a short in the harness but that is speculation with out a formal diagnosis.
