Your transmission fluid contain water, thats why the colour of the fluid changed to pink. And of such the clutch is slipping causing the engine to reve up before shifting - Check transmission cooler.

Solenoid pack in trans. Position module,is just that. Wrong guess. What tran model do you have? You also have other sensors to consider but have to know the trans your working on and the computer and shift stratagy involved to solve this, even if your throwing parts at it.

Have you checked the trans. fluid level and condition-should be a clear red, not burnt or brown looking.
Have a shop or transmission shop diagnose it. First they will check for trouble codes to see if there is an electrical problem. It kind of sounds like it. But if it is an internal mechanical problem-you know what that means: transmission rebuild or replacement.

O/D Off light goes off and on

the overdrive is the 4th gear. considering that it may not be an issue with your computer switching gears to fourth but an issue with the transmission itself. this light could be a signal instead of and engine warning light where the engine is fine but the transmission isnt.

Remove the battery clamps and clean them and the posts with a wire brush-make certain when you reconnect that they are tight and you cannot rotate them on the posts.
