I drive down the road and my headings will go out... Well start to blink on/off. If i turn them off real quick there work fine again. I notice that just the headlights go out not the dash lights... Not sure if the tail lights are going out as well cause I never did check before cause it gets dark fast and have to push the switch on and off so fast... I try not to drive it at night but I had to go to the stare again last night and it did it again... I ordered a brand new battery witch did not help.. I just received a new alternator in the mail and waiting for a headlight relay... I was hoping if someone could give me an idea if the parts I'm buying is just waste cause I am fixing the issue... The car has only 36,500 and is in very great shape. I bought it cause the mileage was so low... under 50,000 for a 20+ year car is almost unheard of...

You need a skilled auto-electrician, not a mechanic, one that has a high end scan tool computer that can analyze the stored and live data, plus reading any DTC Codes.
To me, it sound like you have a failing battery, possibly erratic charging and some bad grounds. The electronics on Mercedes are overly complex.
Check you running light bulb.. some of those have two elements in them and one side could be blow inside the single bulb. The blinking is how the car tells you that you have a bad bulb, or maybe a short. Mostly likely it just a bulb.
this sounds like a earthing problem , so check the wiring for the head lights, see if any wires are trapped between something, bare wire touching car body , anythingthat doesn't look correct, could also be the indicator lever itself with a problem , but check the headlight wiring first
do you have auto leveling on your headlights? If you do when you turn them on they could look like they are blinking, as the cycle up and down very quickly. My Jaguar has this feature and I once thought they were blinking also. If not the first thing to do is to remove the cover over the bulb and make sure the connections are firm and in place.Other then that and from your vague description this is all I think it could be.
With the light flashing ,codes are stored in the transmission control module . Have the codes check an this will tell you whats wrong . Probably a sensor or shift solenoid or line pressure solenoid .
I have the same problem. I had it when I turned on my Blinker and turned. When the switch in the steering wheel turn the blinker off it made my head lights blink sometimes. It has to do with the switch that controls the blinker and the head lights. It does not happen all the time.
