Possible ignition module problem. Have you checked/changed it?

I'm going way back into my alcohol erased memory on this one, but check your oil level sender. I ran into this problem many years ago and it seems like that was the culprit.

Not the sending unit, the level sensor on the side of the pan.

1999 chevy blazer will not start. No spark!?!? No spark from the coil to ground.

Could be a bad coil, bad Ignition Control Module (what controls the ignition coil as commanded by the engine computer), or a bad crank position sensor, or cam position sensor. Or the wiring and circuits to all the ignition parts.
Often it is the crank sensor (CKP sensor)-The pcm must have this information from the crank sensor to determine spark timing. If no good signal from the crank sensor, there will be no spark.

It turns but it wont start,it has gas and power

Pull off the coil ignition cable at the distributor and check for spark coming out of coil when cranking engine over. Use a heavy rag or glove to hold the wire 1/4 inch from a metal ground. Should see a strong blue spark when cranking to verify ignition is good. If no spark, check for battery voltage to coil on the coil primary. If you have current to the coil, suspect a bad coil, ignition module, crank position sensor, or cam position sensor, or pcm. The coil, ignition module, and sensors can be tested before replacing.

1989 f-250 5.0 engine cranks but won't start

  1. The ignition system on your 5.0L uses a distributor type system and will include the following components:
    1. Ignition control module (ICM). Depending on the year of your specific Ford, it'll have a inner-fender mounted ignition control module or a distributor mounted ignition control module. hot sure which you have.
    2. Ignition coil. you replaced it.
    3. PIP (Profile Ignition Pickup) sensor. This is Ford's name for the crank sensor and is mounted inside the distributor. The most common name for this component is the pick up coil.
    4. Distributor cap and rotor. you replaced
    5. Spark plug wires. you replaced.
  2. The thing to keep in mind about the ignition system is that all engine cylinders must get spark and the one thing that will stop the ignition system from creating spark on a wholesale scale is a BAD crank sensor.Have you pulled a plug then using some insulated pliers grounded it to the vehicle and turned it over to see if you have spark, that'll tell you alot.takes two people of course.Best of luck and hope this helps.

Will fuel regulator cause 2001 grand am 2.4 cyclinder run ruff with a slight engine knock at idle. And cause engine to shut off at hight speed.

No it will not, you need to have the knocking sound checked out, it could be rod bearing, or timing chain tensioner, both will damage engine, also need to check fuel pressure and ignition coil packs.

Replace e. g. r. valve car started drove home turn off wont start

the erg valve sensor would not stop the engine from starting,so you still have the problem you started with, lets go back to the orginal problem which was?.[car wont start]so im sorry to say its very seldom a sensor will not let an engine,i think you have another problem and a good up to date analizer should pick it up .adrian,,,,

How to repalce a knock sensor on my 2004 gmc yukon

Hi welcom to fixya. A defective knock sensor may cause engine detonation or reduced spark advance and fuel economy. When a knock sensor is removed and replaced, the sensor must be tightened to its specified torque. If the knock sensor is installed tighter than it should be, it may become too sensitive and provide an excessively high voltage signal, resulting in more spark ****** than required. When the knock sensor is installed looser than it should be, the knock sensor signal will be lower than normal, resulting in engine detonation.
To replace the knock sensor:
  • Disconnect the knock sensor wiring connector.
  • Then, unscrew the sensor.
  • Remove the knock sensor.
  • Reverse the procedures to install the part.
  • 15 ft.lbs.torque
  • hope this helps.Thank You for using fixya..iluv2fish.. Ray..

1999 Dodge Ram Van doesn't start,3500- 1 ton, 5.9- v-8 it's got 158,500 miles, 1) doesn't start 2) No spark (Condition: Good fuel pressure)

I'm not familiar with dodge but I know Ford's and GM's have ignition modules that go out and you lose spark.

My 1999 saturn sl2 will not start. It cranks, fuel pump is working but I no spark from the ignition coils or spark plugs. A few months ago the wipers started acting funny (going off when they wanted to)...

It could be, and almost definitely is very possible its the brain ( ECU or Electronic control module) Will all the things you said it is doing that is probably the problem. Caution : Computer problems are EXPENSIVE
