Most likely the injection pump, either the drive or timing module connections or the mechanical governor sweep.

SOURCE: D3500 dually diesel has rough running problems for

I would look more at your injector pump than the lift pump....Dodge does have a problem with there fuel delivery ( not enough consistent PSI ) which in turn takes out the injector pump mainly because the pump has be running to lean...So look at replacing your delivery pump with something 14PSI or greater, unfortunately sounds as though you will have to get your injector pump either replaced or rebuilt

When going up hills is the engine bucking and missing? Also for the hard start warm problem, check the fuel pressure regulator for leaks into the vac line.

Over heating, thermostat replaced, radiator, engine, and heat core flushed, no water in exhaust.fans working, water pump flushes water thru.

You may have air in the system. Let the engine run with the radiator cap off until the thermostat opens. Have someone then get in the truck and bring the rpm up to 1800 to 2000 rpm and hold it there for 15 to 20 seconds while you top off the system with coolant and put the radiator cap tightly back on. Then bring the rpm down to idle and road test the truck. DO NOT BRING THE RPM BACK DOWN TO IDLE UNTIL THE RADIATOR CAP HAS BEEN INSTALLED COMPLETELY. I suggest replacing the radiator cap at this time also.

Ck or replace your MAF sensor. First sensor in the duct coming out of air filter. It controls the air/fuel ration

Wont start

when you turn the key to the ON position you should hear your electric fuel pump come on (a quiet hissing noise) if you dont hear this noise your fuel pump has gone out, if you do hear the noise you might want to check your fuel filter it could be clogged and starving the engine of fuel
