I switched out the relay for the fuel pump, still nothing. checked fuel pressure,55 psi and not dropping, changed icmit did run for about 45 min and iac valve, fuel filter.i can hear the pump whinning.new battery too.it still won't stay running.spits and sputters and shuts off. hard to get started again.
Could be what Jeff said. But I would look at the catalytic converter. Remove the pre cat O2 sensor on the back exhaust manifold, or loosen the exhaust at the the manifold. If t does OK, replace the cat/s.

First thing to do is run a fuel pressure leakdown test. borrow or buy a fuel pressure test gage for you car and hook it to the fuel injection rail test port, then start the engine and shut it off the pressure should not drop by more than 5 PSI, if overnight it drops to near zero PSI you have a failed fuel pump pressure check valve and you need a new fuel pump. Also clean the throttle valve and the idle speed control valve with spray throttle valve cleaner.
With pressure like that I would say there is nothing wrong with the pump. A 5 psi drop with the engine running would indicate that the injectors are getting a good supply of fuel. I would have the fault codes read to find a fault before I wasted money chasing something that may show up in the test.
I agree with Peter on this one. Sounds like low fuel pressure. First thing is to be sure that you have around 55-60 psi when you turn the key on and running should be around 55. If the pressure drops much below these no.'s the fuel pump may need to be changed. Don't forget to check and/or change the fuel filter also.
you say fuel pressure is good, but what is it? what is the fuel pressure when it stalls out? Spec is 60-66 psi and it wont run if its 55 psi. the fuel pump relay should be good if the pump runs. Make sure the ground for the pump is good , G402 should be on left frame rail. you may have had it off to replace the pump? maybe? it may be time to stop guessing and have a repair shop diagnose it for you. You sure have replaced a lot of good parts.
REPLACE FUEL FILTER,CHECK FUEL PRESSURE, SHOULD BE SHOULD BE 9 - 13 PSI TBI FUEL INJECTION AND 55 - 61 PSI MFI FUEL INJECTION.WHEN YOU TURN ON IGNITION WITH ENGINE OFF.LET FUEL PRESSURE BUILD UP AT FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE TO CORRECT PRESSURE THEN TURN OFF IGNITION SWITCH. IF FUEL PRESSURE DROPS VERY FAST OR LEAK DOWN IN 10 MINUTES.YOUR FUEL PUMP CHECK VALVE FAULTY IS BAD.FUEL PUMP NEED REPLACING.BE SURE FUEL INJECTORS ARE CLEAN THEY WILL LEAK DOWN FLOOD ENGINE FOUL OUT SPARK PLUGS.
When the ignition switch is ON and the fuel pump is running, the fuel pressure indicated by the fuel pressure gauge should read 379-427 kPa (55-62 psi) . The spring pressure inside the fuel pressure regulator controls the fuel pressure.
A fuel system that drops more than 34 kPa (5 psi) in 10 minutes has a leak
Common description of fuel pump problem on that model.Connect fuel gauge to fitting on fuel rail, drivers side below t/Body,when dies get out and see what fuel preasure is,Should be at about 40 to 45 psi.
