SOURCE: is it true that ford escape's catalytic converter
no a dealer is not the only place that replaces these; you can do it yourself and there should be 2 of them. most of them are replaced with aftermarket ones. go to a muffler shop and they will replace them for you and you can check at an Autozone or Napa for the catalytic converters

CAN'T TELL U IF THE NOISE IS FROM THE CONVERTER BUT THEY DO COME APART AND CAN SOUND THAT WAY.AN AFTERMARKET CONVERTER WOULD BE FINE AS LONG AS IT IS FOR SALE IN YOUR STATE(NO CALI)

If the e-brake cable is attached to caliper the piston is threaded. I use a very inexpensive tool i bought at the parts store . you will need to turn and press the piston at the same time. be aware that the two different sides are threaded oposite of each other. If the e-brake cable is not attached to caliperr the a c clamp should do the job.

While I could explain what to do, it may be better if you have detailed step by step instructions with illustrations on hand. You can get these free by registering for free at www.autozone.com Once registered you'll have access to a variety of DIY repair manuals.
SOURCE: my 2009 dodge journey won't
This is a notorious problem with '08/'09 Journeys. Unfortunately Dodge, nor the dealers have identified the root cause. Dealers will start by replacing the WIN (wireless ignition) module, then the starter, followed by relays, the ELV module, and finally send you on your way. Soon you will stranded with a NO START / CRANK INOP problem again. There is no real solution identified... ...and that's a travesty. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
