SOURCE: How much does a transmission sensor cost to

I wouldn't worry about the cost. Any dealer or auto parts store would be the place to get that answer.
You need to know if you have a bad sensor. A code for a sensor does not mean it's bad, or needs to be replaced.

SOURCE: How do you replace a

to replace the output speed sensor( i just finished doing mine i bought it from ford for 40 bucks and tax if you put the edge on good size ramps and put on the parking brake remove the entire air box on the front right remove the wheel well cover and locate the black cover on the front of the transmission(behind the raidiator)the output speed sensor is at the botom of the transmission and when you remove the front trans cover and the sensor get a bucket or drip pan handy about 3-4 quarts will come out (it holds 10)mercon V the electrical harness is behind the black cover the say remove the valve body you dont have to i tied a wire to the connector and fished the new one back through the front shaved off a couple of hours that way i am not super mechanically inclined but when ford said 800 bucks to replace it i asked for an exploded view and bought the part told them i would bring it back for them to install later:)

Where is my speed sensor for my 2007 silverado 1500

code p 0700 refers to transmission control system/MIL---malfunction==== causes --TCM---wiring
check all connections and wiring condition or replace the TCM
code p 0717 refers to turbine shaft speed (TSS) sensor ---no signal====causes ---wiring---TSS sensor---ECM/TCM
logically the TSS reports to the TCM to facilitate ratio changes so if the wiring , connections etc are not good then one will affect the other
Take it to an accredited auto transmission specialist shop, have it properly diagnosed and a quote
do not confuse a TSS with a VSS sensor as they are two different speed sensors in the same box

Ok one major question! Will changing the tcc solenoid in my 01 cougar fix the o/d flashing and make the car go forward when I try to drive it?

No. replacing the TCC or the OSS, will not make the transmission work. You can unplug these transmissions and they will still work, less OD. Sounds like you may have stripped the torque converter oil pump gear. Common in these older Mercury/Fords.

Po715 automatic transmission most of the time it don't want to go to the other gears stays in first gear

This is cause by three things. 1. Low fluid causing difficult shifting. 2. Bad electronics in the 1,2, shift circuit. Or the transmission is in limp mode. The transmission can go into limp mode for several reasons. Try removing the gas cap, sometimes the evap system will cause issues. Also get the car to normal operating temperature and check the trans fluid, add as necessary, do not overfill.

Speed sensor

Hi I'm Peter your code P0720 Output Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is a generic OBD-II powertrain code. It is considered generic because it applies to all makes and models of vehicles (1996-newer), although specific repair steps may vary depending on the model.
On electronically controlled transmissions, the Output Shaft Speed Sensor (OSS) is located on the end of the transmission before the drive axles or driveshaft to read the speed of the output shaft which may be used to determine shift scheduling, torque converter engagement schedule and Electronic Pressure Control (EPC) inside the transmission. The Powertrain control module / Engine control module (PCM/ECM) has determined there is a malfunction with the OSS sensor. The PCM/ECM may substitute values based on other sensors to determine shift timing, torque converter operation and EPC pressure if the OSS sensor information is unavailable. The OSS sensor is also commonly used for the speedometer. Note: On some vehicles, the OSS sensor is inline with the Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) sensor, if there is a failure with the TFT sensor or associated wiring, the OSS sensor may malfunction as well. If there is another code associated with the TFT sensor as well as the OSS sensor, suspect a possible problem with either sensor, or the wiring in between

I have reverse and first gear

I'm guessing you don't have any other gears? If your speedometer doesn't work, then you need to replace the vehicle speed sensor (VSS), if the speedometer does work, then you probably need to replace the turbine speed sensor (TSS). The transmission can't shift if it doesn't know how fast the vehicle or transmission is moving. Since you didn't way what model and engine you have I can't tell you where the VSS or TSS is located. You can buy these sensors at a local auto part store, such as Auto Zone, and they can give you the specific location of the sensors on the transmission.

Where is the location of a speed sensor on a 2003 Ford F250 superduty?

It should be sticking out of the top of the transmission at the rear of the unit. There are 2 sensors, 1 at front of unit (TSS) and one at the rear of the unit (OSS). The OSS is your speedometer related sensor.

it indicates an insufficient output from the OSS sensor. The output shaft speed (OSS) sensor is a magnetic pickup that provides transmission output shaft rotation speed information to the powertrain control module (PCM).
I suspect RFI, affecting the OSS signal to the CPM. I will post the actual PCM rationality test, it will help you understand what the PCM looks for before setting the code.Possible sources of strong RFI are the alternator, Battery cables corroded, fuel pump faulty, and any other wire running next to the returning wiring harness, the return signal from the OSS signal is tied to your transmission solenoid, TSS, and a few other electrical systems, any of them will send an unwanted voltage that can interfere with the signal.
