I have a hst 5225 astro start and it will start my truck but when i shut the truck off and take the key out it still runs

Hi Ron, You might want to take that to the dealer, GM has a recall on most of there newer vehicles for Ignition switch failure, RE: Ignition lock cylinder, key etc, And if your vehicle is an 08 Colorado I can almost bet it will be on either the Manufact. Recall list or NHTSA list. You can go to there site, and put your VIN number in and it will tell you all Recalls, TSB's and Investigations. GM also has a site for this as well. Starting Kioti DK40 Tractor for first time in about 2+ months. It starts, but when I let off of the key it shuts off.
Question edited for clarity. We don't have a Kioti Category, or one for Tractors so left it in Cars and Trucks..

It sounds like you have a faulty ignition switch. Phone Tractor Joe and ask if he agrees. Sounds like you are missing the connection in the middle that supplies power to the ignition, but you have the connection on the next position of ignition power and the starter circuit. Check the connection block.

How to shut off truck with remote hst 5225 astro start?
Your truck should shut off automatically after 5-15 minutes without the key in and 'on' due to built in antitheft. If it won't shut the truck down on it's own without the key that unit is most likely faulty.
Disconnect the ignition coils and this will safely shut your truck off if need be until it can get replaced.

If you just want to turn it off, and the unit is ok, you have to manually cycle the key.

it all depends on if the wire does or doesnt have power when u shut the key off, if it does the pump will run non stop even with the key out,i would suggest getting the relay working properly,also depending how u hook it up u dont want too much voltage runnin through the relay...u could melt it,hope this helps
