Car won't start Auto Theft Reset

I recently had some work done on my car. They unplugged the battery and when they went to plug it back up it won't start. I was told that my car may have an auto theft switch or something. Is there a way to reset the auto theft device?

SOURCE: Radio Anti-Theft turned on.

i had the same vehicle and my code was 8040. What really bothered me was this car was sooooo cheap, the stereo was cheap, the whole integrity of the car is cheap, however they have an anti theft on the stereo. ha ha lol! Don't spend any money trying to figure it out, either pick up a new stereo or give the car away!

SOURCE: how do I reset my anti theft on my 2012 Kia Sorrento I can not start my car and alarm goes off when I try to do anything!.

1. Disconnect Negative Battery Terminal.
2. Turn Ignition key to RUN(where it is normally, when driving).
3. Reconnect the Battery.
Should be OK, now, but if not-
1. Disconnect Both battery terminals. Hold them together for 60-90 seconds (drains memory current).
2. Turn key to RUN.
3. Reconnect Battery.
If there is still a problem, it needs professional repair.

99 VW Beetle will not start cuz I switched the anti theft module for a different one from the junk yard. When I plugged it in and turn the key the car alarm went off so I disconnected negative battery and...

Because you have changed the Module twice, (to the replacement one then back again), You will have made the ECU, (the car's brain), think it is actually being stolen. You'll need a Good Auto Electrician to look at you vehicle to sort this out.
Anti-theft units are coded specifically to the vehicle it is originally fitted to and only that vehicle so it can communicate with the ECU and the Key fob. That means they are not normally a part you can just swap. The only way to swap them is to pay the Silly prices and get a Dealership to re-programme the ECU and the Anti theft module to match your vehicle.

My key is stuck in the ignition of my 2006 cadillac cts

2005 CTS 3.6 Dead battery, key stuck, service anti theft and nothing happens when you turn key, Ttried everything, ECM reset, key memory reset, charged battery to 12.7 volts, locked door w remote and opened w key, anyway you get the idea. After 3 days of online reading and trying, THIS IS WHAT WORKED, 1. put key into on position 2. removed sarter relay from front fuse panel 3. jumped 1st pin closest to fender and passenger seat with pin that is closest to motor and front fender. I used a paper clip and just made contact long enough for car to start. ran car for five minutes and took key out and everything went back to normal. then I took car to advance auto parts to have engine light reset. if car does not go back to normal you have ECM (car computer) failure. video on YouTube under "no crank, no start"

My car recently had work done to the body. When I got my car back, the radop didn't work... all it said was code. I put the wrong code in three times and now it says "off". I have the right code now......

have you tried un-hooking the battery cables for a few mins? or un-plugging the radio from the back of it.. this is the anti-theft mode and will need to be reset..
