you are going to have to take it to a shop so they can calibrate the idle, there's two screws you have to mess with and it's not worthy to try to do it yourself, it'd be very frustrating, sorry. It happened to me and it took me months to finally give up, I paid only $60.

if u have a high idle there are only 2 things that cause this, one is a vacuum leak at the intake manifold, the other is a defective idle speed control air bypass valve. The idle is computer controlled and not adjustable.
In my 1996 ranger xl my high idle problem was due to a bad ect sensor. After I replaced that I have had no problems with high idle. Not sure if yours is idleing high all the time like mine was but that sensor fixed the problem for me. Hope this helps!
